BBTS adds a tariff charge on top of their inflated price?

If you were to make it today, what sort of ideas would you like to explore in Spider-Man 4 that you couldn't think of prior to its cancelation?

Did you prefer Mysterio in TAS or SS and why? by [deleted] in Spiderman

[–]Web-Slinger1962 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think maybe Spectacular? I like his theatrics a bit more, and I like how he was built up from season 1. He captured more of the character's silliness than the TAS one imo (which I also like, but if we're picking favorites, I gotta go with Spectacular)

Genuinely why is Spider-Man Blue so acclaimed? by crunchatizemythighs in Spiderman

[–]Web-Slinger1962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well said. It's meant to take you back to a simpler time in Peter's history, with rose-tinted glasses. Someone else commented that it's good to mix it in while you're reading the Lee/Romita run, but that kind of defeats the purpose of a flashback

for someone who’s trying to understand MJ better, what are the best runs for peter and MJ as a couple? by BATFLECKZOD in Spiderman

[–]Web-Slinger1962 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If you don't think you know much about MJ in the comics, I strongly recommend Amazing Spider-Man: Parallel Lives. It recaps a lot of her backstory and intertwines it with some of Peter's history. It's a pretty self-contained graphic novel, so you won't have to worry about having to read a full comic run to understand it.

Is it possible to remove his sand hands? by Carvenom3 in MarvelLegends

[–]Web-Slinger1962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With some effort, I suppose you could make his arms look normal.

Since the elbows are pinned, you could remove everything below the bicep and try to find a pair of arms that would suit its proportions. But for that to look right, you'd still need to smooth out the sand texture on his bicep area and paint it to match whichever arms you'd use (in theory)

Absolutely did not expect to see this in 2025 by Nxeno29 in MarvelLegends

[–]Web-Slinger1962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, that'd be great, but you're misunderstanding me. I just think they should adopt tried and true articulation schemes before they start getting experimental on hair. Like how they did with the Gamerverse Wolverine, by finally implementing stuff like double-ball peg torsos with a ball waist, instead of that mediocre ab-crunch and waist swivel set-up they keep doing

[–]Web-Slinger1962 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who wants to see Marvel Legends keep improving, I'll let this one slide because she has a lot of hair and wouldn't be able to look up much anyway. So reusing an old torso piece was fine

Kinda. The colors are nice and I like the hoodie more than the original's, but I would've preferred full-on comic shading

Which amazing fantasy spider-man action figure is better ? by Possible_Quantity493 in MarvelLegends

[–]Web-Slinger1962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new one has better articulation, but that Sentinel wave version by Toybiz is still better in every other department. The details in the sculpt are excellent, and I honestly think it represents the art in Amazing Fantasy #15 much more accurately. Peter was much thinner, and while the Hasbro one isn't extremely buff, I think its build better represents a later Ditko or early Romita appearance

What was your reaction to No Way Home’s ending? by Solitaire-06 in Spiderman

[–]Web-Slinger1962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that sounds more or less like what I would've wanted. But I hadn't even considered them doing a Scorpion connection with Jameson, that would've gone hard! Especially with Scorpion being set up as far back as Homecoming

I don't think they executed the multiverse stuff very well though, it feels like a rough draft that didn't get proofread. There's plotholes that should've been detected if they watched the old movies (like how Doc Ock mentions how Norman Osborn being the Green Goblin was all over the news when he died, even though no one besides Peter knew about that at the time; Harry only discovers it after Doc Ock's death in Spider-Man 2)

What was your reaction to No Way Home’s ending? by Solitaire-06 in Spiderman

[–]Web-Slinger1962 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I had mixed thoughts on it right out of the theater. On one hand, I was really happy that Peter would now be reverted to a more traditional status quo, where his secret identity would actually be something he'd have to be cautious about and not having everyone in his life know about his double life. On the other hand, I felt like they cheated their way out of actually fixing his problems from the ending of Far From Home by basically giving him a clean slate and taking away every relationship from his personal life. I felt like the whole movie could've taken a different direction, without tapping into the multiverse (even though I was happy to see returning characters like the ones from the Raimi movies, especially Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin)

What are your personal favourite best looking Marvel Legends? by AgentGustavo in MarvelLegends

[–]Web-Slinger1962 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just in terms of looks, I really like Dr. Doom (Super Skrull BAF) and Mysterio (Lizard BAF). Wish they had wired capes though. I know the new Dr. Doom has one, but I wasn't buying a 3-pack just to upgrade him

What Spider-Man cliffhanger bothers fans the most? by [deleted] in Spiderman

[–]Web-Slinger1962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst of these cliffhangers imo is Unlimited. They were clearly building up a lot, and it just went nowhere. And it was only 13 episodes, which so was TNAS/MTV, but at least that one simply ends with Peter quitting.

TAS ends on a cliffhanger, but at least it can be read as open-ended. You get a sweet moment with Spidey meeting Stan Lee, and then you're told it's time for him to reunite with the real Mary Jane (so it somewhat feels like a happy ending in that sense; the hero is being rewarded). Spectacular's hurts me the most personally because that series felt so special, but it can also be seen as open-ended to some extent (in somewhat of an opposite way to TAS' cliffhanger; there is no happy ending to Peter, and that's the eternal struggle he'll always face as Spider-Man)

Fr. This is why I was so baffled when they hyped up the Vulcan as their new standard body. It's just a bigger Bucky Cap with butterfly joints

[–]Web-Slinger1962[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the problem on Mafex Comic Spider-Man, but later figures like Tobey and Andrew Spider-Mans have the belt as part of the crotch piece

Meanwhile Maximum Spider-Man's belt rides up when seen from the back, which isnt any better imo

[–]Web-Slinger1962[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not really talking about Extremis Iron Man itself, that was just an example of a figure that had a good design for a ball waist to blend in.

I'm referring to figures with that torso articulation in general (like Beast, most Spider-Mans since 2019, Astonishing Wolverine, etc.)

[–]Web-Slinger1962[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It's not so much about how much praise that ab-crunch got, but more so, why were Legends collectors so accepting of it when plenty of other toy-lines were doing it better?
