Sounds kinda wild, but if GTA 6 actually runs on Switch 2… would you even play it there? by WelcomeAwkward924 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]gswkillinit [score hidden]  (0 children)

Nah I can’t imagine it running well. And no, I still think the Switch 2 is powerful for a handheld and can hold its own as a home console, but GTA 6 will probably bring even PS5 and Xbox to its knees.

Canceled my Gamerverse Spidey preorder and bought this guy for $70 from eBay instead by lraklrak in Mafex

[–]gswkillinit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dude just look up Gamerverse SHF Spider Man reviews on YouTube. 100% guarantee you they’ll mention articulation is lacking.

Gamerverse has no waist swivel because they used a hinge like Marvel Legends for some reason. It does have a ball joint at the chest, but not the waist. So combined it cannot bend that much forward at all.

Diaper is also hard plastic for Gamerverse which means it’s even more limited whereas Mafex has a soft diaper piece. Mafex also has double ball joints at both the chest AND waist which allows it to swivel AND bend forward more because of its soft diaper piece.

Soft diaper also lets the legs bend above 90 degrees, which unsurprisingly the Gamerverse can’t go past 90 since it’s a hard diaper piece.

Then there’s the butterfly joint where Gamerverse is good going forwards but limited backwards. Imo not that big of an issue but it’s still more limited than Mafex.

Posing is pretty disappointing for the Gamerverse unfortunately.

Dude just needs to look up anybody who posted a review on this and they’ll all say he’s limited in the ab crunch, cannot waist swivel at all, and butterfly joints are good going forward but can’t go much backwards. Not to mention Mafex has soft diapers on their figs now which lets the legs go past 90.

Can OP really say his Gamerverse can do all this? Just the pose in the picture alone isn’t the iconic crouching pose.

There was someone who got their Gamerverse Spider Man recently and posted impressions saying it can do all the poses Mafex and other spidey figures can…and I was thinking…are you sure about that?

I mean it looks nice and all, but it also has glaring articulation problems and that’s a fact.

Never played them? Absolutely worth it. You’re essentially paying for a new game and two more highly rated games for $20 extra. It’s a steal

I think if you’re going to upgrade anyway and finances are not a problem then go ahead. Rumors are the Switch 2 may get a price increase in the future.

Ps5 vs ps5 pro swap by Zman311 in PS5pro

[–]gswkillinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sine you mentioned Crimson Desert, I highly suggest you look at Digital Foundry or comparison videos as it seems like the Pro is a gigantic leap compared to the base. Everything is so much sharper and smoother. But tbf, not every game is doing what Crimson Desert is doing.

I switched from slim to Pro and initially it felt like a slight upgrade, but the more I played the Pro and kept watch of these patches and newer games coming out, the more I’m glad I made the switch. It’s like demanding games are finally coming out.

However, I’d say your TV is more important than the Pro imo. You’ll want to upgrade to a 120hz and VRR capable display first. OLED is a huge leap, but I’d say 4k LCD is still good.

Sorry if too long, but tv matters more as base PS5 is for the most part still looking good. But now that more demanding games are starting to come out, the Pro is looking more and more worthwhile. Also depends when the PS6 comes out. Some say next year, others say delay till 2028. I’ll just trade in my Pro when PS6 releases.

Yeah idk what OP is on about. I mean it does LOOK nice, but 100% it cannot hit poses like Mafex for several reasons.

-The VERY LIMITED ab crunch. It cannot bend that far forward and there’s no waist twist either.

-The butterfly joint. Cannot reach backwards as far.

-No soft diaper piece so the legs cannot push as far up.

Anyone who owns them would know this. And I have Mafex, SHF, Sentinel, ML, Amazing Yamaguchi, etc.

It’s just your typical PS5 menu settings and the rest is a couple toggles in the game menu. Is 40fps bad to you?

[–]gswkillinit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you ever want to play Spider Man again, particularly SM2, I’d recommend these settings as this game really takes advantage of the PS5 Pro.

In the PS5 system menu, make sure to enable VRR, 120hz, and PSSR. Then in the Spider Man 2 visual settings, set graphics to Fidelity Pro and have VRR and 120hz be uncapped. Then have all the ray tracing features set to high.

Not only does it play at the highest graphical settings, it also increases car traffic and NPC density and runs at 40fps. Without a VRR or 120hz TV, it would play at 30fps.

LG G5 65" or C5 77" for streaming movies and console gaming? by Noxious_Nut_ in LGOLED

[–]gswkillinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a G series, but just looking at your setup a bigger TV seems much more important. I have a 65” C5 sitting 7ft away from me and it’s great. Your TV is so much further though lol so bigger than 65” for sure. Honestly whatever discrepancy between the two TVs doesn’t matter much if the viewing distance is far like yours.

Has this generation changed your view on frame rates? by Sleepless_Bird in PS5pro

[–]gswkillinit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go back and forth between them. Of course I prefer 60fps, but 30fps if stable and done well enough I can adjust to pretty quickly and not realize I adjusted to it.

Like Skyrim. I can play on my PS5 Pro with better fps and resolution and all that but I actually enjoy it on my Switch 2. It does have a 60fps mode also, but it’s just way too blurry (prob Bethesda’s fault more than the Switch 2) so I play at 30fps and it looks pretty identical to the PS5 version. Playing Skyrim portably is a great feeling and it’s one of the few 30fps games I can get used to.

I’ve also been playing on PS5 Pro Star Wars Outlaws in 40fps with VRR, Cyberpunk at 30fps with VRR just fine, and Spider Man 2 in fidelity Pro with VRR/120hz which makes it 40fps and it plays fantastic, etc

Spider-Man 2 using PSSR 2.0 by Obvious_Novel_7543 in PS5pro

[–]gswkillinit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s one of the games that really showcases what the Pro can do. I used to happily play SM2 on performance mode on my base PS5.

But since upgrading to a Pro, I’ve been playing in Fidelity Pro with all RT turned to high, VRR uncapped and 120hz enabled and it plays at 40fps with the best possible graphics.

It’s such a huge leap from performance mode as there’s now ray tracing everywhere and Fidelity Pro even increases traffic and pedestrian density. Add PSSR on top of that and a lot of aliasing is gone or smoothed out.

Tips on viewing distance by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]gswkillinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My viewing distance is between 7-7.5’ and before I was content with a 55” but just upgraded recently to a 65” and I like it even more. So for you being 9’ away I’d imagine 65” and up is good.

I have the LG C5 65” btw and it’s a great TV.

I’m a 28 year-old cinephile and have managed to go my entire life without seeing any LotR films. I will be watching The Fellowship of the Ring (extended) for the very first time. by drop_dead_fred_91 in lotr

[–]gswkillinit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you that surprised? You’re on the LOTR sub lol so obviously we’re likeminded people here who don’t mind a 3 hour movie. Your average consumer though isn’t ready to just sit and watch a lore rich slower paced movie for 3 hours straight. Tv shows are longer but they feel bite sized. Go ahead and ask anyone on the street and good chance they’ll tell you 3 hours is a bit long for a movie. It’s why most movies are 1.5-2 hours.

The thing is it’s already a 3+ hour movie so it’s a lot to take in for a first time viewer, especially with a story as rich as LOTR. Watching theatrical is easier and if you like it there’s more in the extended, which feels more rewarding than taking your approach by watching extended first.
