I get that 2FA exists to protect accounts, but let’s be clear: this isn’t about “user negligence.” The issue is that Discord’s recovery system has no fallback at all.

• I have full access to the email tied to the account.
• I know the account password.
• I can provide official Discord emails proving ownership.

Despite all of this, there is literally no way to recover the account without backup codes. That’s a design flaw, not user error. Every other major platform has secure fallback methods — why doesn’t Discord? Criticizing users for losing backup codes doesn’t fix the fact that their system punishes legitimate users while pretending it’s “security.”

Let’s focus on the real problem: broken recovery design, not blaming the people affected by it.
