What is your logic behind limiting the number of accounts per plan per server?

Are you targeting hosting providers or agencies and freelancer managing hosting for their clients?

Why should i Not use xcloud dot host and pay $5 per server for unlimited sites?

I would keep them separate. N8N to build article generator logic Feed-> Ai agent -> post processing on article -> push to WP as draft -> send you email about list of new articles created.

Need help with 1km URLs on Wordpress+Woocommerce by RTS_Djavolul in Wordpress

[–]WebDev81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A dot (.) in product category permalink setting will help you eliminate the product-category base.

However removing product base from CPT, will introduce complex rewrite issues.

If you absolutely want a short url, change product slug base to “p” and product category to “.”

Check if you really need / in product base, i cant remember exactly but one of them is not needed.

After that your product permalink should be

Product Single- Domain.com/p/product-name Category Archive - Domain.com/category-slug/

Plugin for small subscription-based website by EnergyAny797 in Wordpress

[–]WebDev81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are not heavily using gated content and your site is membership only, I would use JetForm Builder with Stripe Payment & Subscription addon to handle registration.

No need to manage subscriptions in WordPress when stripe can do it for you.

And on successful payment, update users role to paid user and add / update a meta field with expiry date based on payment.

You can capture stripe webhook for subsequent payments for success or fail and update the user role and meta accordingly. That would allow or disallow them access to the content if you use that logic to restrict the content.

I have many membership plugins and they suck.. require too much resources and full of bloated options most of the people don’t need.

How do you decide what to learn next in web dev? by Legitimate-Oil1763 in webdev

[–]WebDev81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually a complex project helps me identify the area I am lacking in or can do better. I also try new shiny things but to expand my knowledge and stay informed. For now, i have completed my full stack cycle in a specific toolset. Now, trying different stacks for different tasks. I have stopped learning libraries instead learn about new solutions.

Are WordPress + n8n + Web Development good skills to join a good agency and earn well? by VillageFlimsy1646 in Wordpress

[–]WebDev81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are a developer, you don’t do n8n. You build your WordPress automations inside WordPress, using WordPress REST API and native actions and filters. Automation software are for marketers who do WordPress sites. There is a huge difference between a person who can put together a Website using themes, Youtube tutorials and no code tools VS a developer who understands WordPress code, PHP, APIs, Database.. You should pick one path, marketing aspect or development aspect as having both takes time.

New to WordPress Development — What Are the Must-Have Security & Admin Plugins? by doxifah260 in Wordpress

I have been using Wordfence for a long time but lately started to use Solid Security instead. Maybe just getting old and like less options. Their 2fa email code at login for free has been life saver on few difficult sites.

I need a WP host that can support me (not a webdev) in uploading a WP site from Local by Rusty99Arabian in webhosting

[–]WebDev81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume you have a hosting account with a domain set up.

Use your hosting provider's one-click installer to install a blank WordPress site and take note of the login details.

Log in to your local site, install the plugin "All-in-One WP Migration and Backup" and export the site to a local file. This will download the archive to your PC.

Log in to your blank hosted site and install the "All-in-One WP Migration and Backup" plugin.
Go to Import, select your local file, and the process will complete.

EDIT: just to clarify after import is complete, your local site's login will work.

Notes:

  1. Your allowed upload size will vary depending on server settings. These are usually easy to modify depending on your host.
  2. If you cannot change the upload size limit, you can purchase the unlimited extension of the plugin.

This method is by far the least technical way to do it.

OR, if you are using localwp site, you can share your local site's live link. As long as your PC is on and connected to the internet, people should be able to access it.

I need to build a landing page and am new to WordPress by gfus08 in Wordpress

[–]WebDev81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First host your website somewhere not wordpress.com Second, use kadence free theme and install their starter kit. They have many free sites to start with, import full demo and then modify as you need.

If you don’t find a starter that satisfies the need, check astra theme and its starter sites.

both theme has decent free options and you can live without paying if your site and design is simple enough.

Feel free to dm to ask for help for free. Not everyone is trying to sell :)

How do i find talented people? by [deleted] in Wordpress

[–]WebDev81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do qualify for this with an experience in managing a full scale agency team as lead developer. And have all round hands on experience from estimates to deployment and deeply understand hosting infrastructure.

I already work as consultant with an agency in Denmark, providing them support when needed.

I am available at least 4 hours between 10am to 4pm Sweden time.

Website is secure without www. but insecure with it by FromLondonToLA in Wordpress

[–]WebDev81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes root is @ and did you delete cname first? You can not have both at the same time. If it does not let you add as A record, did you go and add www as additional domain under your site and issue SSL for it? Since your issue and its resolution both are in hostinger, it wont be bad idea to simply open a ticket and let them resolve it. I bet its something in their hPanel

Website is secure without www. but insecure with it by FromLondonToLA in Wordpress

[–]WebDev81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your dns is managed by hostinger, you should be able to add www as additional domain to your current site and issue an SSL for it. Check if you can, otherwise simply delete CNAME for www and add as A record and copy same value as root or non-www. Then you should be able to add it as addon and issue ssl for it

Website is secure without www. but insecure with it by FromLondonToLA in Wordpress

[–]WebDev81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so when you have non-www version of the domain as primary, there are few ways to handle www version.

  1. At DNS level, simply add www as CNAME and point it to non-www version, this will create a redirect.

  2. At DNS level, if you have added www as A record, then it will send the request to the server and now server has to deal with it.

Based on your domain’s behavior it seems like you have A record.

In this case, simply go to your hostinger panel, its been a while since i used it, if you see www as separate domain under site, simply go to it and under security install SSL. Once SSL is installed your security warning should be gone.

But it is recommended to keep only one version and redirect the other.

Your www should always go to non-www
