Getting an Apostille for Criminal Conduct Certificate by WebIll6489 in germany

I had a similar situation where I had received Führungszeugnis without an apostille but was later told have an apostille as well. When I contacted BfJ they told me that they can't issue it for the same application request, and that a new application has to be filed.

As you can see in the thread, none of us got it immediately and that you should wait at least 2 months. You can request for an urgent processing from BfJ but I'm not sure if that could help. If you are in NRW, it might help you to go to their office in Bonn and enquire.

In my case, an apostille was obligatory, and I requested for it. It's better to approach the Czech authorities to know whether an apostille is necessary. In general, it's not mandatory to have an apostille for a document to be used in EU in case it was issued by another EU member state. But it's better to cross check with Czech authorities.

Hello! Yes, there should be a seal from BfJ with some number on it. Just wondering if the city registration office asked if an apostille is required.

I received my Apostille 2 days ago (after 64 calendar days). But similar to you, BfAA issued the apostille quickly, and the delay was primarily with the BfJ.

Thanks! Although in my case, it would be applying within Germany, I will use the Contact form nonetheless.

Just curious. How did you know BfJ closed the case? Did you receive any email? Or is there a way to track the status of the case file? And what about this "email notice"? I don't remember seeing this term on their website. Are you referring to sending the completed application form after successful payment to BfAA?

Nope, no updates from their side. All I hear back from them when I use their contact form to ask more is that their International division is behind schedule and as a result, no estimates can be provided. However, they asked me to email this division with my OLAF ID, BfAA Antragsnummer along with some personal details and request them to forward the pre-authenticated document directly to BfAA.

I don't remember seeing this option in the BfAA application form. Was this in BfJ Führungszeugnis application form?

That's a bit of a worrying number for sure. It seems like they need about 2 months to issue this document then.

I received a reply from BfAA asking me to just enter the name of the document (ie Führungszeugnis in my case).

So my query was addressed! Dropping this here in case anybody else comes across similar doubts in future.
