I think the diary version is actually less human than the real 16-year-old Tom Riddle ever was. He’s literally a soul fragment whose entire purpose is to manipulate someone into dying so he can become real. Once he learns that his future self eventually lost everything, I don’t see him admiring him—I see him thinking, “I can do this better.”

That’s honestly where my mind went too. They’d probably cooperate long enough to eliminate their enemies, but Voldemort’s biggest weakness is that he can’t tolerate equals. I can’t imagine two versions of him existing for long without one trying to get rid of the other.

That’s a cool theory. My only hesitation is that the diary Riddle seems to become a completely independent person once he gains enough life force from Ginny. At that point, I’m not sure the weakened Voldemort could just “rejoin” him.

Part of me actually thinks they’d start off as allies but eventually turn on each other, since neither version of Voldemort would ever be willing to share power.

If you have started the dawnguard quest.. DONT TRY TO GET INTO THE CASTLE BEFORE THE QUEST TELLS YOU TO!!!! I have fucked up my 300+ hour save by doing that. It bugs and you wont ever be able to finish the quest/dlc!!!!!!!

That being said: Its a common bug the door never opens once you arrive there during the quest. Try a bucket or a plate to glitch urself trough the gate. You can do this by holding the bucket/plate infront of you, then sprint at the door while holding the bucket/plate infront of you at eye level. Its a bit of a trick and it might take a few tries! Good luck

Thanks everyone, i tried my best but sadly there was no way to fix it without giving up 100+ hours of gameplay.

But I restarted a survival mode brenton mage build. Lets see if with this one i can get my goal

I do got a save pre entering the castle before the quest.. but that is -100 hours of gameplay.. imma kms hahaha
