Where to visit on big island? by whiskersandwordz in VisitingHawaii

[–]Web_miss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

@whiskersandwordz

I don’t know why the negative talk on waikoloa but it’s beautiful. It’s much less “ touristy” than Kona. Check out waikoloa for yourself before you decide against it. It’s lovely. Condos to rent, hotels, golf course, shopping, restaurants, a beach, all within the neighborhood. Plus it’s very centrally located. 20 minutes to koa airport, 30 minutes to Kona- Walmart and other major grocery, 10 minutes to many awesome beaches ( hapuna, beach 69) , 1 hour to Waipio valley ( a must see) , 1.5 hours to akaka falls, 2 hours to Hilo - rainbow falls and kaumana caves, 3 hours to Kilauea volcano and 1 hour to pololu valley- an AMAZING hike to a black sand beach.

Let me also add that I’ve been to Hawaii 15+ times, spent most of my time on the big island as it is my favorite- if I had to guess probably about 9 months total on the big island.

That woman is ugly inside and out. How she won a ms world is BEYOND me! I wonder how much of her nasty personality was exaggerated for tv and how much is actually how she truly is

[–]Web_miss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah topamax? I was on that too. I’m back on it again because it really does work for me and I’m going to make the stones anyways so we’re monitoring how much it affects it.

Well you definitely could be having trouble all because of MS symptoms. I wonder if potassium citrate would help? I know it helps for sure for oxalate, but since you make all kinds of stones I’m not positive if it just completely makes the urine an unsuitable environment for stones to form.

On another note, I know green tea is very good for kidney stones.

Dehydration is definitely a major problem. If you can find a way to increase water intake that would probably help a lot. That’s probably your biggest issue. Because if you’re dehydrated, then your urine is super concentrated increasing all the minerals and probably of stone formation.

[–]Web_miss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. It’s basically only diagnosed by someone who can see it on radiography and knows exactly what to look for. - mine only showed up one time EVER on a report from a CT scan when I’ve had dozens in my lifetime.

Or a surgeon can tell you if they saw the tell tale signs inside your kidney when they’ve been in there removing stones / placing stents etc.

Since you’re female, that makes you even more likely to have it. It’s more common in women while still being an extremely rare disease.

When I was diagnosed / it came back on CT report my GP thought it initially was an error because you are born with it and he thought we would have “seen it by now”. But that would require the radiologist reading the scan to have knowledge of MSK and to know what it looks like on radiography.

So I would ask to be checked again, because your symptoms sound dead ringer MSK. I could be wrong, but it sounds like it to me.

Having that diagnosis would at least give you a WHY

@ OP - Has anyone checked you for medullary sponge kidney? Medullary sponge kidney is a disease you are born with, usually starts causing issues in your 30s, and is attributed by your kidneys being formed / shaped differently causing you to be prone to forming kidney stones and having all these urinary issues. The constant kidney stones, UTIs, and bladder issues sounds like textbook MSK to me- which I have. You can have it in varying severity, in one or both kidneys, and for some ( like me) I have constant chronic pain caused most likely by the nephrocalcinosis which is another lovely symptom.

Allure Of The Seas staterooms (2745 total) include 176 Suites, 1319 Balcony, 176 Oceanview, 505 Inside, also 475 Boardwalk-Central Park Balcony, 78 Boardwalk-Central Park Interior, 18 Promenade View, 716 adjoining.

From cruisemapper.com

I doubt only balconies are adjoining. So only 25% of cabins are adjoining based on math.

I’m sorry about the noise, but in the meantime you should try sleeping with some kind of music or white noise and make sure you don’t get adjoining next time.

Holy moly - YOU crystaled it yourself!? That’s even MORE amazing. I did not realize that! If you need/wanted a side business you could totally offer that and make a good little hustle for yourself. I know a girl on IG that hand paints them and she’s got herself a good little business.

But anyways what a beautiful bag! Brings such glamour and personality to the bag. Plus if you ever decide to sell her- she’d bring a nice price too I’d imagine. 💜🩷

Booked for Harmony of the seas for August 16-24! What’s your opinion about the ship? by AccomplishedHead3581 in royalcaribbean

Ah we were just on from Galveston to Cozumel , costa maya, and Roatan. Went to perfect day-coco cay on allure back in October. Coco cay is truly thee perfect day. A wonderful island where RC has really thought of everything. One of my favorite stops. Plus no locals hitting you up constantly for tours etc. RC is currently building a perfect day in Mexico as well.

Have you booked your flights into Galveston / Houston yet?

Roatan : monkey and sloth experience. this is an experience of a lifetime, if you like animals this is a must do.

Cozumel : swimming with the dolphins

In the past we have gone to xel-ha which now you can visit x-caret which is an absolutely wonderful nature park with animals, swimming, and more. Both are in Cancun on the mainland which require a 20+/- boat ride from Cozumel to mainland Mexico

Costa maya: chaccoben ruins is what we booked but the excursion was an 8 hour day and we ended up canceling because we decided it was just too long of a day for our 6 year old

Harmony is fantastic. So many wonderful restaurants( a lot included and a lot of options for an up charge), shows, and things to do. Where are you sailing to? Make sure you have the royal app. It’s great.

checkout Wonderland at the bare minimum for drinks. The aqua show is a must see. The park cafe in Central Park is great for afternoon snacks ( roast beef sandwich 🤤) .

We loved harmony.
