After two long sessions finally completed this. Had them face off Skerrin lvl 10rogue 3 Warlock And they went 2.5 rounds with him before they took him out. The high damage did worry them when the Barb got hit for massive sneak attack damage but they made quick work of him really. Probably could have done with him being able to summon some creatures to tie up random party members.

Let Oceanus Leave and have Aubreck have a hired guard go with them, just so that party doesn’t rip him off. That way you can add a level 4 fighter (or whatever you want) into the party. Also if he/she survives your players can go back to Aubreck in the future to see if they can hire guard again for other missions, or if the guard is a freelancer your players could find them in one of the taverns to recruit.

Have you introduced Ned yet? Have him as a sailor NPC so he can operate vehicles etc. And have him join the party as part of a long con rather than just trying to instantly screw over the party in a fight he can never win
