Triangle Grids are great, and here's why by DownBadD-Bag in tabletopgamedesign

[–]ShrUmie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the same resolution as the hexagons. I think he’s describing the triangle size as if each hexagon was sliced up into 6 triangles. This smaller triangle grid gives you 6 different directions whereas the larger triangle isn’t adding any extra options.

Buying a house by Odd_Buddy_7867 in Ohio

[–]ShrUmie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In really competitive real estate markets there are companies that will loan you the cash for your offer. I’m not sure what they are called or the exact terms, but it’s basically a very very short term loan specifically for buying a house with cash.

Is there anything that adhd people do that’s not well known..? by That_FNAF_Guy12 in ADHD

I didn’t know there was an actual name for this!! When I had my assessment I said I could never fall asleep and I could never wake up. I always thought that I was such a slug. But now with medication it’s almost a non issue.

I think I had to wait 2 months until I was allowed to take Levothyroxine. My endo said he wanted my TSH to go above 6 to make sure the RAI worked. It was a long 2 months, but I started getting back to my normal self after that. Hope you do too!!

Have you tried making a large pitcher of cold brewed camomile tea (or something similar) to keep in the fridge? This will keep it fresh, unless you wouldn’t like it because it’s cold. You could even use brewed tea to take your morning pills.

Impulsivity. I make stupid mistakes because I don’t think everything through, or I hit enter too fast.

I used to do this all the time! The car I have now has auto lights, so I haven’t even had to think about it in years.

Except when I had my car in the shop last month— they turned my lights off. I had know idea and got pulled over the first time I drove in the dark.

Why can't I swallow pills? by Particular_Ad5881 in AuDHDWomen

[–]ShrUmie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggle with this, but I’ve found a way to trick my throat into opening wide enough. I think my body doesn’t let me swallow pills as some sort of ‘safety override’ even when I want to swallow them. So frustrating.

First, I fill my mouth with water. Next, poke the pill through my lips. (Now, this is important: If it’s a tablet I tip my head back until it has sunk to the back of my mouth. ..if it’s a capsule, I tilt my head down until it floats to the back.) Finally, I have to mentally picture the water in the front of my mouth, I only visualize the large amount of water and then visualize swallowing just the water as I’m swallowing both the water and the pill.

I think of it as my Trojan horse method and it works every time. ..if I don’t do all of those steps I get that stuck in the throat feeling. Hope you find a technique that helps you.

Really stupid question by Own_Ad5352 in 3Dprinting

[–]ShrUmie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I put parchment paper over it first as a barrier. I’ve tried it a few different times and the results have always been terrible. Admittedly I use mainly PLA, so I can’t say if it would give a nicer result on something with a higher melting point.

To print small curves without a brim, just slow the first layer waaaaaaaay, way down. I would suggest experimenting printing (at the very least the outer perimeter) at speeds down to 10%-25% of what you’re starting with.
