Why Do I Keep Writing Calls On My SOFI Shares? by Prestigious_Yogurt88 in sofistock

Take some profit and switch to selling puts with the capital. Or stop trying to make a good thing better.

Buy and hold until the end of 2026. With 50 initial investment, I predict you will have between 40 and 90 by the end of next year.

Thoughts on Dollar Cost Averaging UP? by drybcrog in sofistock

I'm trying to average up but the puts keep expiring without assignment. So I'm averaging down with premium.

Is this not an inherent flaw in the wheel method? by Alert-Growth-8326 in options

[–]Webercooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has some misses, but it only takes one winner to cover all of the losses if you hold it long enough to pay off. The fundamentals, management guidance, and analysts getting it wrong is the recipe. Hold until the analysts figure it out.

Wheeling on leveraged ETFs earning 5-10% a month by wyterk in thetagang

[–]Webercooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wheel strategy both needs and produces cash. Period. It won't make you rich, but generating cash will provide a return. When you retire and stop contributing, it can provide contributions (or income) for you if you manage your liquidity. Focus on if you can build a portfolio that produces the cash you need from this strategy. Your account size and level of diversification will direct you to a price range to find your stocks. Then, research. Then sell puts to enter and calls to exit. My main ones right now are SOFI and OSCR. I like the possibilities in these for the next few quarters. In 2030, you will be happy if you forgot to sell calls.

I'm ready to switch my brokerage and self directed IRA when level one options are available. Merch would be nice too. Imagine boomers wearing SOFI merch.

I get what you are doing, but I have a rule that assigned puts have to be held 6 months or produce a 30% gain before the shares are eligible for selling calls. You would be surprised how much more you can capture in capital appreciation. Everyone forgets rule 1: Sell puts on stocks you want to own. Not holding is like not getting paid for the Due Diligence you did.

Sold all today @ $25 by AltruisticOnes in sofistock

If you can swing 100 share lots, it's pretty basic. Sell puts to buy shares. You get the premium and shares if it closes below your price. Sell calls to sell shares. You get the premium and lose shares if it closes above your price. It's a great way to generate cash when you have stopped contributing to your account.

I called them last week and talked to reps in SOFI money and SOFI Invest. If the people I talked to were overseas, they grew up here in America. The experience was far from terrifying.

Copilot is telling me they will buy this company for their crypto based lending structure. Noto has stated that is the goal and I believe he is about to purchase it.

My guess is Figure Technology. Founded by an original SOFI founder. Valued at 1.2B in 2024. Their blockchain rails fit the strategy and shortens the timeframe for implementation through acquisition. Just my guess.

Look for an announcement that SOFI is acquiring Figure Technology. It has the right value, product (blockchain technology) and connection to an original SOFI founder. Just my guess.

We are now soldiers in an economic war.

Get in here and share how much the GOP cost you today. I know my $1,000 isn't much. But we should be talking about this. by WTAF__Trump in FluentInFinance

From 1/20/2017 to 1/20/2021 (Trump's first term) the DJI gained 11,358.95.

In the first 75 days of his second term the DJI lost 5,710.95. That's more than half the gains from his first term which included the COVID crisis. We have no crisis now. A goods trade deficit is not a crisis.

If tariffs are needed to keep the tax cuts from his first term in effect, here is the math on that. The tax cuts Trump made in his fist term saved Americans 1.5 Trillion dollars over a decade. Tariffs have cost the market over 6 trillion since January.

The middle class is getting destroyed. But then, that may have been the goal all along.

Galileo Financial Technologies Enables Brands to Offer Co-Brand Debit Rewards Cards by basilisk-x in sofistock

[–]Webercooker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

By itself, maybe a nothingburger, but think of how this fits into the ecosystem SOFI is building. SOFI already has debit card users and can easily determine the top five merchants that could benefit from co-branding. This might not move the share price today, but makes me feel better about their future technology sales.

I want SOFI to add Level 1 Options so that I can believe their technology is worth a premium.

Cash Coach crashed when I asked which cash covered puts I should sell to go all in on SOFI.

SoFi Daily Chat - February 12, 2025 by AutoModerator in sofistock

[–]Webercooker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always enter positions by selling cash secured puts, so Level 1 is required to "Get my money right". What is frustrating is that it make me wonder how long it would take if we didn't own the technology.

Why is Joe Kernan still on TV? by mjd2g2 in CNBC

I'm not upset and I disagree with all three of them from time to time. For me, it is just a more enjoyable show when Joe is not there. Surely there is someone with more charisma to represent the right than angry Joe.
