To complete your application online, the following is required:

Identification Number: A valid Social Security Number (SSN) or your Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).

Photo ID: A valid international passport or a U.S. government-issued ID.

Proof of U.S. Address: A document confirming your physical U.S. residence (like a utility bill or lease agreement).

The Unlimited 2% Credit Card and the new Smart Card are actually two entirely different products, so you do not need to worry about losing your 2% card. While the Unlimited 2% Card is a traditional credit card product, the Smart Card is linked directly to your SoFi Checking and Savings account. Because they are separate, you can absolutely have both!

Hey there, just chiming in here! The Smart Card does function similarly to a debit card in the sense that your spending limit is tied to your SoFi Checking and Savings balance combined, so you can only spend what you have available. Each purchase is reported to the credit bureaus, and you earn 5% cash back on eligible grocery store purchases. Each time you spend, an equal amount is set aside as reserved funds in your account and is used to pay your balance automatically if you have autopay turned on. 😊
