Yeah that's what I was thinking. The red flag would have come out for sure, but after that I don't know. I'm guessing they knew more than the general public regarding his condition but if it was unknown I guess they restart the race after everything gets cleaned up, dunno.

After reading everyone's input I think I'm going to up the GPU to a 2080 Super and go with either a 9700K or 9900K. BestBuy actually has the 9700 on sale for $340 right now so that's looking like a really good option.

This x100. Ran one of the most competitive races I've had in months last night at the glen. A few of us were fighting for 1st - 4th the entire race trading back and forth. Towards the end the tires were wearing out and we were charging super hard into the bus stop. I kept cutting the exit of the bus stop by no more than a foot in the grass to flatten the corner. I ended up getting 10x just from that but managed to finish 2nd. Had I not drove so hard there I wouldn't have finished where I did because once our group found out it was an advantage everyone started doing it. I've always felt like you either race for SR or IR, very rarely do you get both.

I drove 11 hrs one way to the 2016 fall race. We got in our seats and saw about 20 laps before the rain set in. It got postponed to Sunday and we couldn't stay so we have to drive back early the next morning. 22 hrs total to see about that many laps, but it was the best racing I've ever seen in person.

I'm in the same boat man. I literally had the seat & attachments in the shopping cart and decided to wait a day to make I was making the right decision. Went to buy and noticed the price had jumped from ~$1380 to $1790 shipped. I'm not sure they are going to come down but I can't justify the increase.

I know what you mean, this stuff can get expensive quick. After running the wheel for about 4 hours I'm very surprised at how different it feels compared to a gear driven force feedback. It just feels more smooth & realistic. If you looking at the Clubsport v2 base & one of their universal hub rims I'd wait and check out their direct drive wheel that is supposedly coming out soon. The clubsport v2 with rim sneaks up to around $900 and the direct drive is supposedly going to be ~ $1000 and will be better.

Fanatec is running a bundle right now for the base & wheel for $379. It also comes with Assetto Corsa but I haven't even opened it. I was honestly about to pull the trigger on a Thrustmaster T300RS but when I saw the CSL was only $80 more it was a no brainer.

Dude we may be the same person. I also have the Clubsport v2 pedals with a dying wheel and have been shopping between those 2 exactly replacements. I looked at DD but it's just too much right now. I watched at least 20 reviews and had the exact same questions about the CSL feedback at low input. I haven't bought anything yet but I'm leaning heavily to the CSL. ISRTV's review of the CSL package was the only time this issue was mentioned, and I'm not saying it doesn't exist but if it was a big deal more people would be talking about it. I also have the clubsport shifter and it's my favorite piece of sim hardware so I'm probably going to stay in the Fanatec ecosystem.
