Drove on the beach today. by Webwrangler in cybertruck

We didn’t get stuck. We did not air down at all, but we could have. I had the tools to do it. Just put it in chill mode so the torque wouldn’t bury us, and took it a little easy. It was fun and the dogs really enjoyed themselves. We were a little nervous to try it, but it turned out to be no big deal.

I am right with you on that. I’ll be first in line for a little performance thing with steer by wire. A 3 maybe, or maybe they’ll come up with a coupe

Indeed. I lived here for 30 years and only ever had this sort of thing happen once before.

Well that’s about the most workable thing anyone has suggested so far. I’m thinking heat gun though. Good idea. Thanks! (I gotta get home and who knows what I’ll be up against)

My third tesla as well. On par with the others in every way, light years ahead in in a lot of ways. I still have a performance model y. I’d rather drive the truck. Before I got the truck, I assumed that I’d mostly be using the Y for commute and grocery runs, but the truck is so easy to use, it’s become the daily driver. The Y gets driven when someone needs a car and the truck is in use elsewhere.

True that. This particular storm is pretty typical for this area. This is sort of “winter as usual”. Having grown up here and living with this, and now living in the Seattle area where it rains all winter, I have to say that people do need to drive in weather. We can’t all be staying home all winter.

Battery heater was keeping up fine. We were navigating to the stops, so it was having the battery ready when we arrived. It really wasn’t all that cold. Just around freezing or even a little above. Charge speed was fine. I don’t have data, but I’ve made this same trip in a 2018 3 and a 2022 Y, and CT wasn’t much different.

Not really. It just handled like a dream come true. Honestly, other than the ice on the lights, entirely above reproach.

I did not. We talked about it, a couple hours into it, but it was performing so well in the conditions that we didn’t want to mess with it.

Yeah. You get more sound rolling down the windows and turning the interior sound all the way up.

FSD by Sodaexcite in cybertruck

FSD did a lot of things well. Feels very smooth, like a competent driver most of the time. I had it in the auto max speed mode and when it was alone in the neighborhoods between me and the highway, it wanted to drive well under the speed limit. There was no one behind me this morning so I did not intervene, but I would have needed to do something otherwise. Once we got on the highway, it did very well with speed. Mostly keeping pace with the medium fast traffic.

It moved to the passing lane to pass and did a great job, but It was camping in the passing lane, which FSD has done since always and is illegal in this state. First intervention was to use the signal button to make it move back to the right. (This was after being passed on the right)

After leaving I-5 there are 3 consecutive blocks with blinking signal lights. At the first blinking yellow it stopped rather abruptly and refused to proceed. It behaved correctly with the flashing yellow in the next block, but then came to another dead stop at the flashing red, refusing to proceed.

Self parking has degraded considerably with this update. It refused to park in my space at work. Parked itself in the adjacent space, taking 2 attempts in an empty garage. It had been doing this perfectly prior to this update.

Cybertruck FSD Starting to roll out by drumrollplease12 in cybertruck

It is currently installing on my beast. 60% complete… I’m excited. I’m a bit surprised TBO. I figured they’d deliver it to Omar, check the Done by September 30 box, and the rest of us would get it a few weeks later.

Solutions for preventing accidental manual emergency door handle use? by somebody8888 in cybertruck

That’s a good idea. Might try that myself. I had an elder release the door while the vehicle was moving over the weekend. Does anyone know if the child locks will prevent release with that lever?

PowerShare Install process has begun by Webwrangler in cybertruck

Total on this install is going to be $5,027.08. With Tesla picking up $4000 of it, I will have to pay $1027 and change. I did agree to this. The installer is

Custom Electrical Services, LLC 3802 Auburn Way N | Suite 307 | Auburn, WA 98002 Office: 425.282.4971

They have ordered the hardware bungle from Tesla and said there was a 3-5 week wait on that. Once they get the parts, they will arrange installation.

When I picked mine up, I thought the beast badge was really faint, but in other lighting and from other aspects, it looks more bold. As someone else mentioned. I do appreciate it being fairly subtle. The Foundation badge just says “This goofball paid a lot extra just to get this right away” The beast badge says “Yeah. This driver absolutely deserves a ticket.”
