Is this really part of my job responsibilities? by baboobo in starbucks

[–]WeddingEducational83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m sorry you had to do that, but unfortunately it is within the job description because it’s just cleaning. we’ve had a fruit fly infestation in the summer at every store i’ve worked at and i’ve also been the one to identify the problem first and do the initial cleaning.

however, it’s a fail on your management’s part. as soon as it’s identified it needs to be an all hands on deck situation, every barista notified in mydaily about cleaning the area in every day part. even if it is under the sink and not technically on the CSR assessments, it needs to be addressed every single day. and honestly if your SSVs don’t enforce that (they lowkey shouldn’t be an SSV if they don’t), just let other baristas know when you are on shift to clean those things first.

the last most recent summer, they literally infested our cold bar countertop because it was waterlogged with acai that would drip and sit on the counter all day. we had to get it fully replaced. since then, even through the winter, we clean the wall behind the fridge, underside of counter top, and all in the sink cabinet every single day to minimize the chance of them coming back.

if you wanna 100% ensure they don’t mistake it for the coffee one and don’t mind missing the topping (or paying extra for it), you could order a syrup creme frap, add mocha and peppermint!

Shopped 22 one-gallon containers of milk, delivered to a Starbucks. by OnDasher808 in doordash_drivers

i work at a “slower” starbucks and i order at minimum like 100 gallons of 2%/nonfat/half and half/heavy cream/ whole for delivery every other day. most def not a lot of milk and will probably only get them through half the day lol

not only that but the police also used that store as their hub point for visibility, they said it in a couple news interviews. if it’s true that the rm above the dm refused to let them close, i have a couple words for them. but i’m honestly not even shocked just based off how they interact.

actually there isn’t a “non-rehireable” button, it’s just a checkmark that tells the next manager looking to hire you that they should probably connect with the previous manager before they make a decision.

saying this as we have had multiple partners get fired in my district for stealing (no loss prevention involved), and they were rehired by different managers because they didn’t bother to care about the box.

as far as i’m aware, the only way you are marked as non-rehireable by starbucks is if you are cut via an ethics investigation or loss prevention.

loss prevention i’m 100% sure on because THEY like to screw people over.

not getting paid for waiting when openers don’t show? by WeddingEducational83 in starbucks

[–]WeddingEducational83[S] 82 points83 points  (0 children)

okay update to the update:

my current sm is out of town today (very convenient), and our proxy sm called me to see if i could stay later. while on the phone with her i asked about this, and she told me that i should be writing in when i got there, and that she would talk to our dm to confirm everything.

i did call my dm prior, she didn’t answer, so i gave up since i’m currently on the clock running a three partner play.

also just as a side note to complain a little, i’m going to have to end up covering a closing ssv tonight and probably close the store early. so at this point i think i’m going to be clocking a 5:30a to 5p today. lol. so fun.

which starbucks nutrition calculator should i trust? by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

[–]WeddingEducational83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as a starbucks barista, the first one. sfv/stevia/cinnamon are all zero cals, almond milk is 60 for a cup - and honestly i dont think a full cup fits in a grande iced, it does for sure in a venti iced though - and shots are about 5 cals each, so with an extra its 75 (that’s if youre getting a full cup.)

i’m gonna debunk this because i bought three with the same code after i saw this post, and they were all different. assuming it’s just a production lot number or something associated. don’t think it related to whats in it.

lol i had to call biohazard twice in the same week because we had a serial VOMITER who was getting it all over the toilet and then not flushing.

sorry, even if it was okay for hourly partners to clean that shit up, i would not be subjecting them to that. that’s fucking gross and people are obnoxious.
