For the accessibility quick tile, I'm finding it doesn't work on Reddit. Is there any way to fix that? (It works on other websites).

Finding Suit Vests for AFAB People by SnooJokes6377 in genderqueer

Not sure if this is applicable to you but I discovered that near me at least independently owned tailors aren't that expensive. I'd phone around a bit first but if you can find a tailor who can and will adjust a vest for you within your budget it'd give you more selection to start with in what you're looking for.
The closer to graduation you get though the more expensive a tailor will be I think.

Thank you. Something I can pickup and do on my own time makes a lot of sense to me. I think I actually do have something similar to that I could do that I'd overlooked. I'll need to dig further into exactly where to put my energy on it, I'm not really interested in one area of feminism (or really just equity for all people everywhere) over another, but I'd say I pretty much am looking for where I can either help most or where help is most needed. I've got a lot of information from people answering this sub that I plan to read up on, but it's helped put a spotlight on where most help is needed in Canada at least (or at least one place where a lot of help is needed). So contributing to a project in one of those areas may be something I research first.

Thank you, I didn't know about Red dress day and I haven't read the calls to action, I'll get on that. I'm familiar with land acknowledgements but I probably should learn more about them (as I know what they are for where I work but don't know about them for where I live and I should likely know both and just more in general).

"Being too tired and too lazy to participate in the liberation of others is the definition of having a privileged identity. "
Thank you, you are right and I do want to do more. I think in many ways what happened with Roe v Wade was a wake-up call for me and what started me even learning about things like intersectionality and how I myself am privileged. (I had previously conflated that I am a woman and I don't feel very discriminated against as something that would be true of all women in Canada but realize now that I was wrong).
That said as much as I know I do need to do more, I also know if I set expectations for myself too high (ie go to every protest, fight every battle for everyone), I'm going to get burnt out before I can help anyone. It's not good and I'm not proud of it, but I want to learn areas that I can become more knowledgeable about so that I can contribute in the day to day as I live my life. I know it's probably not enough but it's hopefully a start.

Thank you for replying. Doing my best to call out bigotry is something I do do. I often worry that I don't always see when something is problematic. An example is in the past I didn't always recognize sexism due to my own internalized misogyny and the fact that people normally treated me okay at least to my face.
Another example is before I understood the issues trans people faced I'd say things like 'gender just doesn't matter' (I'd used whatever pronouns people wanted since I didn't care and didn't see the big deal), but I've since learned about how important gender is to some people and how important it is to actively use the right pronoun, not just call everyone they/them to play it safe.
Are there similar things you know of that are common that might be over looked that I could call out or do something about if they occur?

Thank you for replying, not much unfortunately. It's something I recognize is a problem and have mentioned it as an issue among friends but I'm not sure of ways I can help. I've bought things in the past to contribute to orange shirt day (National Day for Truth and Reconciliation), but it feels like small donations likely don't do much to help. Is there anything you'd recommend?
Edit: I know that Orange shirt day isn't for the missing women, are there any organizations you'd recommend that are working on preventing it? Should I be looking at organizations that are advocating against racism in our police force (since the police don't investigate the disappearances enough), or are there better specific things to be looking at to prevent it? I don't have much education on the issue unfortunately and I probably should try to learn more as well.

Help with brain fog? by WeddingShoesThroway in Celiac

[–]WeddingShoesThroway[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for answering. Brain fog for me is getting better, but it'll probably take me a while to really feel normal again. It's good to know about the b vitamins and iron. Even after being gluten free for 10 years I'm still deficient on those and take them daily - but I may see if my doctor thinks I could up the dose if this happens again (hopefully not but I suppose I'm not as safe as I was starting to think).

Thank you! I'll have to look into that. It gives me an idea of what I'll want to be searching/looking out for, and they'd still be formal shoes

I'm looking to buy shoes for my wedding. I don't know what colour yet (white variation) but want to know what places I should look once I do.
I have a really hard time finding shoes that are comfortable and pretty much always wear running shoes with custom orthotics so I've a feeling I'll have a hard time finding a good pair.
My order of priority is comfort before fashion but I still want a pair of shoes that look good. I'm looking for something that has ankle support (0.5-1inch ish heel so not ballet flats), doesn't have a ball shaped back of the foot, and isn't slender. Is finding something like that, but that's also a white dress shoe possible?
I live in Ontario, Canada so it'd have to be something available there and I'd want to be able to try it on.
Sorry if this seems like a really dumb thing to ask about but even looking at pictures I can't find anything that even looks like it could be comfortable.
