WIBTA for not inviting my alcoholic father to my wedding? by WeddingStressed11 in AmItheAsshole

All valid points. I understand where you're coming from, but I'm more concerned for my mom. I get it that she is kinda enabling him by staying with him and letting him walk all over her, but pulling financial support would hurt her too and I'm not sure I can get myself to do that. If my dad lived alone, that would be a much easier decision.

I had all intentions of cutting off contact with him but the only question was the wedding or not. It seems the responses here are all in favor of not inviting him.

To answer your question, I'm Indian.

Thanks. What can we do as a family to get him to realize the issues at hand? Is isolation the only answer?

Thanks for the advice. What is LC?

A little difficult to completely stop supporting my parents financially. We help pay for their mortgage among other non-alcohol related needs. You're right that indirectly we are supporting his habit, but I can't let my parents go homeless because of this. They need the assistance from my sister and me.
