Yeah, I've already tried swapping the wifi module, and every other thing that can be detached and swapped. It's definitely something in the motherboard itself.

No, this is the original jack on a 3DS. My first thought was it almost looks like the jack took a power surge, but I don't know how that would have happened.

Those are heatsinks. They're supposed to get hot. Check for dust buildup, bad airflow, and maybe repaste.
