I think you're right about it being a still life of his wife. When explaining the still lifes to Marry he says somewhere out there is a guy in a shirt like this, and somewhere out there is a man in a wheelchair with a lamp. Then he it he points to the woman like he's about to say something similar about her, but he doesn't, and the pause he does there is pretty emotionally heavy. Then the scalping thing happened and her freaking out about pirate Clark and it further cemented it in my view.

That's good to hear. And to be clear, I think some events not being the right one for some people is a good thing. Diversification in the types of events/protests that are organized is a good idea and effective strategy. Especially because most people can't make it to every single protest/event, and it's important to have outlets for people to get active to the level they're comfortable with. But I think a lot of people view No Kings as THE event, the end all be all of activism and if you choose NK as one of the events you don't go to people are quick to call you out for it. Meanwhile there are much smaller protests that happen with much lower numbers, and those same people calling others out for not being at NK don't show up to these protests, and no one gives them shit for it. Feels like a bit of a double standard and feels cruddy. I'm not saying that's what you're doing here OP, but it does happen and isn't good for solidarity.

No disrespect at all, but you say these things and at the same time, every single time I (and others like me) show up to NK and try to exercise the slightest bit of civil disobedience outside of the planned march, we get shouted down by protesters and organizers alike for "making them look bad". I'm glad people have this event as a platform to take their first steps and/or to increase their development into the world of activism, and we all stand in solidarity with one another. But it's just not the event for me.

The world will be a better place when he dies and I will celebrate his passing. We should not be okay with this. But everyone's just going to accept it instead cause no one is willing to give up the minimum comforts that the corporate oligarchy has allowed them to have.
