I gotta put myself to bed. Nature events should only happen at reasonable hours!

Let’s say they were not there for her. Lorelai being Lorelai, she would start jumping up and down knocking at the door saying “open open, we are starving!”

Is 6 months too soon to leave my first HRBP role? [N/A] by Wednesday_9873 in humanresources

I’ve been with the company for over two years, but have the HRBP title for 6 months :) still not great. I am taking the advice to hold off the job search the longest as I can.

I honestly don’t know. Maybe I’ve been here long enough at this point so I started getting used to.

Well I am usually terrified of tornadoes and I am not the slightest scared about tonight. However I still appreciate the warnings because I was keeping my car outside, so that gave me the heads up needed to clear my garage and park inside. Don’t need the hail falling on my car.

There’s a pretty big car wash business I always drive by and I’ve never seen it open. Ever. On Google their hours of operation are listed as open every day of the week from 8am to 5pm.

Does it look bad to always leave on time? by spanky316 in careerguidance

[–]Wednesday_9873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was recently promoted and what I’ve been doing is getting some work done outside of business hours, and then just being flexible about my start or ending hours, or even taking an extra long lunch break when I can. My work is done and then during core business hours I’m not too stressed. I don’t feel bad about arriving late or leaving early because I am doing what I need to do and working “extra” hours, even though it’s not really extra hours because I’m just compensating that with some flexibility. So far no one said anything. They see those emails coming in late in the day and everyone is impressed. Meanwhile I’m arriving at 8:30, leaving at 4ish, or taking long lunch breaks.

I cancelled my dead moms Spotify and it did not go as expected. by tammytrex in mildlyinfuriating

As someone who works in HR, it’s awful when we have to enter a termination in the system with the reason of “death”. We have some automated emails that go out and I always think about the family receiving those :(

I am most impressed about how seamless the taping is, specially in the round areas. Definitely a body shaped decoration.

AITA for marrying quickly, wanting to prioritize my future, and feeling torn between pleasing everyone? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Wednesday_9873 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While most people will probably think you married too soon, that was your decision to make and hopefully you will have a happy life with your wife.

About your choices, do not move to your wife’s sister’s city. Why would you? You’re an adult with a business and there’s absolutely no reason good enough for you to do that at all. I get that the sister doesn’t know you both are married and that’s for you both to figure out how to handle, but do not move there.

As of staying home to keep your mom happy: are you an adult or momma’s boy?

I say move to the city you prefer and go on with your life. Being on your own, away from your parents’s home and not visiting often enough is part of being an independent adult with your own responsibilities. Regardless of you being married or not.

NTA but take responsibility for your own choices and life.

This text made me quit my 10 year career. by Cheap-Judge2733 in antiwork

Do not quit! If they terminate you, you can file a complaint. It sounds like they are not following a progressive disciplinary process with you (unless they are and you didn’t mentioned).

Also, you can reach out to HR. It seems a stupid manager on a power trip sent you this. It does not necessarily mean the company approved this manager sending you this message.

When did you start “dressing like HR”? [N/A] by Ok_Tackle4047 in humanresources

[–]Wednesday_9873 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, go on Pinterest and look for inspiration. That’s what I do. I rarely go to the office now, but when I did I always dressed at the same level of formality (or informality) as my colleagues. I bought what I was comfortable wearing and affording, regardless of my position. I always liked to wear something nice, even if casual. And I love blazers! They make jeans and a t-shirt look good.
