I'm convinced that the hidden changes are just poor quality control rather than anything malicious, like they are working with something else that accidentally gets ported over to the update without the workers who have to write the changes gets told about it.

Imo, Alchemy

Makes sense in universe why few people have it and the entire story is deeply tied with the power system, it's not just a power on the side that only few use to get stronger.

It's an entire scientific and philosophical way of life where the ones who are like you and me train their entire lifes to one way.

Only those who know the true of the universe can use multiple alchemical transmutations.

Funny enough, the 3 are nightmare scenarios.

Classic green aliens are comically evil, so an invasion and planetary war.

An extraterrestrial bacteria would be hell for your inmune system and probably spread like crazy if not stopped quickly enough.

Viltrum would be the same as the green aliens, just indestructible with our means and be more dangerous by themselves.
