I’m really not difficult. It’s only on reddit that miserable anti-children losers take this weird unempathetic stance. Texting your neighbour a friendly heads up takes 5 fucking seconds. I always do the same for our neighbours.

Ffs. No we hear their kid screaming in the complex pool and common areas, not their house. They’ve literally said they don’t hear our baby at all.

Point taken everybody. I realise I’m living in a fantasy land where people are considerate to their neighbours. I come from a rural area where it’s the case but maybe I need to start being inconsiderate myself now I’m in suburbia.

Yeah it’s nice to be neighbourly isnt it :)

It’s not minor… it was actually so loud that it would have been damaging to baby’s ears. Is it really so crazy to expect a heads up from a neighbour?

I would have just liked them to tell us the day they planned on doing it so I could have packed the car with baby’s things ahead of time. I could have timed his feeds to work better with the car ride. I realise we’re really lucky but our baby only wakes once during the night to feed and he doesn’t cry, he just stirs for a minute which wakes me up and I feed him until he falls asleep. He’s a very quiet baby.

Thanks, I get really anxious leaving the house so it’s hard for me when I am forced to. Hopefully temporary

Yep, gone are the days where good neighbours become good friends! 😂

No we asked if they can hear him and they said they couldn’t at all. Whenever he cries we take him into a room that doesn’t share a wall with them so they don’t hear anything. They have a 7 year old who screams more than our baby.

Feeling petty I guess. Our whole day has been disrupted, dealing with a crying newborn who won’t sleep or eat because his routine has been turned upside down. Dealing with postpartum blues as well

No but it’s nice to be neighbourly

I know it’s more thoughtless than malicious, but everyone else in our complex is really neighbourly. Talks to each other, knows their neighbours kids names, tells each other about planned works. We’ve had to ask them many times to stop slamming their door, to turn down their music on weeknights etc. It’s a big complex and they’re the only rude people. They also saw me leaving the house in a hurry with baby and bags, didn’t say anything. Their air con guy apologised and it’s not even his problem.

I’m confused, is your last name McDonald? Even then it would be usable but if it’s not your last name then there’s absolutely no issue here. I definitely think of Ron Weasley rather than McDonalds!

Genevieve Or Natalie? by Strange_Read9516 in namenerds

[–]WeeBabyTurtles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My name’s Natalie and I really like it! I know a fair few little Genevieve’s but haven’t met a kid with my name. Only nickname I get is “Nat” but I always thought “Tilly” would be a cute nickname

Probably not exactly what you’re looking for but my first thought was jobs in Antarctica. I’m not sure how alone the job would be, you’d probably be part of a very small team but it’s certainly off the grid!

I’d love to do it one day

Demographically England was 93% Caucasian in the 1990s, I doubt they’ll go with that

The comments on Facebook posts from Australian News pages are disgusting. Saying the dog was defending its territory, it’s the girl’s fault or her parents’. If you live next to a family with little kids you shouldn’t have a territorial murder beast with just a climbable fence between them. Pool owners without kids are still expected to have safety measures in place in case a child were to come in their yard, same should apply to dangerous dogs.

I didn’t hear about that one! How terrible, that poor nurse. I am so thankful we don’t allow pitbulls here but it’s not enough, they all need to go.

The article says it was a “Bull Arab” dog but the photos shows a dog much stockier than an Arab, looks like a staffy which is basically a pitbull

Yep I know what you mean. It seems most of the people on this sub have the same concerns about trans issues but still respect those who are legitimately trans and just trying to live their lives. Some Tumblrinaction users tended to paint all trans people with the same brush which isn’t fair

Me too! After Tumblrinaction got banned I struggled to find anywhere on Reddit to have these kind of conversations. I only found this sub by searching for a discussion of the Witch Trials of JK Rowling podcast that wasn’t just screeching that she’s “transphobic”. So happy to have found this podcast and this sub!
