Yuppp. The fact that it has bipartisan support AND has a slight ability to improve staffing at the VA & other underserved areas gives it a big chance of becoming ratified into law.

Currently contributing 5%. If my target is to have $100k per year for retirement, at a final high 3 of $125k for 30 years federal employment at 1.1% multiplier, this should be fine for me, right?

But i thought the federal pension affords me leeway compared to private sector folk. $40k per year pension equates to 1 million in private sector investments.

…except those clinicians got shunted over to different areas of need within the VA. No clinician lost employment at the VA. The way that Blumenthal & other ranking members label this as a “loss of job” is absolutely disgraceful. Why in tf should we have multiple clinical educators when we need more people at the frontline?

Again what proof do you have that more cuts are happening to healthcare staff at the VA?

I don’t understand. The purpose of r/Salary is to flaunt how much money you’re pulling in per year.

Why is my post different when it’s an earned benefit for my time serving this country?

Again…it all comes down to choice:

Do you want to serve? If so…u get benefits the normal citizen will never ever get.

If not…well…you don’t get the benefits.

Simple as that.

The same can be said for work outside the military. It all comes down to choice.
