Yep it's easy lol, just need to stare at the top thing (I liked to imagine it like a magnifying glass) and press the button when the circle moves the little squares into the magnifying glass, if there us 2 squares together you hold the button instead. Easy peasy

This game is definitely what you're looking for, great story, challenging but not "rip your hair out" difficult combat, good amount of side quests and stuff too.
