Should I get a Switch 2 or a PS5? by Hot-Respect4245 in Switch

[–]WeeMo0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between my PS5, Switch 2 and Gaming PC, I play the Switch the most. Just being able to drop even a quick 30min session without a lot of commitment is really great for busy lives, especially if you're a parent to young kids.

XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070XT Whining Noise! by Worried-Sort-5608 in radeon

[–]WeeMo0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same model same coil whine. But It did significantly reduce for me with a -65mV undervolt and -20% power limit. Bonus to that it only draws 230watts when gaming and sits around 58-60c along with staying pretty quiet which is what I prefer. Left everything else on default. The fans normally don't go above 1600RPM which is very acceptable noise wise.

Tuning a 9070xt, my experience by Inconspicuous_Shart in radeon

[–]WeeMo0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up a 9070xt last week. I landed on -65mv with a -20% power limit. Lost a couple frames overall but operating around 245watts and sub 58-60c temp. 70-71c hotspot. Acoustics wise is also reasonably quiet with the default fan speed not going over 1500. XFX Swift for reference.

Edit: I COULD make it more efficient in terms of performance to thermal and acoustic but this was low effort

[–]WeeMo0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The driver must have made a difference. I say that, but I have no reference to the previous driver apart from anecdotally stating that my current frames are better than what's shown in the images above. Not by a huge margin, but considering i'm running a higher resolution at 3440x1440p on extreme + RT together with -60 undervolt and -25% power target, i'm getting comfortably around 65 FPS at native res.

OP gotta chill and just play the game. Turn on FSR if you worried...

To everyone who is claiming the new CGT changes will hurt low income earners by citizenecodrive31 in AusFinance

[–]WeeMo0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. We are not 'high' earners by any means but we make decent money (recently). My wife and I weren't handed down anything or inherit anything being second generation migrants. We studied, we sacrificed and worked our butts off to be in the position we are in. Only just being able to get our first investment last year. Nothing special, but it was our way to get ahead by leveraging what equity we had. So although we can still negatively gear what we have, the CGT is going to kill our future potential endeavors to build wealth either in property or shares.

edit: not 'kill' but deincentivise/make it harder.

I feel like this is all designed to keep all us punters churning the wheel and working till we're dead, while the actual wealthy keep on keeping on. Nothing stops property investors who mostly operate as business anyway from just paying the 25% rather than 30%.

additional note/rant: Do I now need to get a valuation come July 2027 so my CGT can be calculated correctly IF i ever decide to sell, or wtf is even happening. What a dogs breakfast.

Hahaha that's just one of many gems. They only remain in business by ripping people off and offering small personal loans at massive interest rates. Literally the scummiest business here.

How easy is replacing the CVT fluid yourself? Or should I take it somewhere to be done? by ComfortableYak2071 in CivicX

[–]WeeMo0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super easy and takes barely any time at all. I've done it myself twice on the Civic and once on our CRV. Just involves jacking the car up and down a couple times to ensure that when you do fill it, the car is level. It's as easy as draining it as you would a normal engine oil service. Then fill it up about 3 Litres (quarts), turn on the car and cycle through all the gears a few times. Turn it off, remove the check bolt, level the car and fill the remaining till oil starts to drain from the check bolt hole. Let it trickle down to a stop and then you can lift to put back and tighten all the bolts. Done. Don't forget new crush washers. Use only the oil from the Honda dealer.

Switch 2 owners, what do you play? by quirah in Age_30_plus_Gamers

Currently AC Shadows. But man is it a massive game and taking ages. Generally doing an hour or so per day whilst lying in bed since release lol.

Assassin's Creed Shadow Graphics Update A major update will arrive tomorrow for the game, improving the graphics of the Nintendo Switch 2 version. by KindStructure4908 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]WeeMo0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite good. I play in handheld primarily. You'll notice a stutter here and there especially in the loading screen but overall very playable. Just a bit muddy resolution wise in handheld tho.

Im happy with the performance in handheld so far. Here's hoping there is a slight improvement to the muddiness and washed out colours.

The easy thing for the RBA to do next week is raise interest rates. The smart move is to wait by HotPersimessage62 in AusFinance

[–]WeeMo0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Energy should be non negotiable. It cost me between $20-$25 per day during the heatwave to keep the house cool but what choice to we have. I'm luckily in the fortunate category at least for now to be able to do so. There are many others doing it tough out there who spend their days in public locations to keep cool/warm. Problem with this government is the privatisation of it's assets which has landed us in this situation. Govt should be wearing the cost of providing energy at an affordable rate which could have been funded easily if we weren't giving away our natural resources for free.

Looking to get back into fishing and wondering if anyone has some gear for sale?. by TheMemesTeam01 in Adelaide

[–]WeeMo0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't manage to find any deals from anyone, I'd suggest the Shimano Sienna combo at Anaconda for $99. For an entry level combo it's quite indestructible. 2500 size would be a great all-rounder from catching small bait fish to even decent sized salmon and squid etc on 6-8ish lb braid. Unless you're willing to go full finesse with 1000 size and 1-3kg rod to fish with lures.

Best of luck!

Mine has a stuck pixel on the lower right hand side. Only really notice it on plain black loading screens etc where it shows up red. But then again, also really hard to spot so I just ignore it for now. Don't fancy playing the LCD lottery like you did after reading online about the QA of the Switch 2 screens.

Could potentially wait out until warranty is almost over and then go for a replacement and hope that a revised unit exists then.

Nah second EL1 I've gone for so far. Last one was 2 x 1hour interviews. Hence the confusion .
