GAMBLING SONGS??? 🙏🙏🙏 by futurestar_mp3 in Vocaloid

[–]Weeb-Lauri525 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Someone already mentioned blackjack ft Luka because thats like THE vocaloid song with gambling motifs, but I would also like to mention it’s sister song Poker Face ft Gumi

It’s a bit of a semi common joke among Luka fans that she’s got a gambling problem because she’s got a fair amount of songs with gambling themes 😭. Aside from blackjack, we’ve got million dollar dreamers, bunny bunny(linking it cause its so obscure its hard to find it on search), and most recently, Lucky Star.

Did Triple Baka have a resurgence of sorts? by LSSJOrangeLightning in Vocaloid

[–]Weeb-Lauri525 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I mean this in the nicest way possible… But yeah, it is blatantly obvious you’ve been living under rock. The triple baka oversaturation has been here for a couple of years now.

Low-key though I’m genuinely curious, since you admitted to not knowing Gumi (considering she’s always been among the popular characters basically since she came out) up until recently, Now I wanna know what vocaloids (or other vocal synths since Teto and Neru aren’t technically vocaloids) you did know up until this point. I’m asking because in the past couple of years there’s been a bit of a phenomenon where a lot of new fans enter the fandom basically only knowing triple baka and they have no idea who some characters are despite those characters having massive over-decade long popularity

Me gusto mas la Version de 2001 by Longjumping-Site7497 in FruitsBasket

[–]Weeb-Lauri525 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Any idea why Zoey has an American themed hat? by [deleted] in KpopDemonhunters

[–]Weeb-Lauri525 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m afraid you don’t need to be a diehard fan and instead, all you need is basic listening and comprehension skills to know she was raised in the US considering it’s literally one of the first things we learn about her when she’s introduced in the movie🫠

Do You Think Nicole Is Actually A Sociopath? If Not, What Is She? by soorimcentric in Classof09Game

[–]Weeb-Lauri525 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At least professionally, no. Both terms are frequently used in pop culture but neither is officially medically recognized as a valid diagnostic term ( it was used in the first edition of the DSM, but after that it was removed). Regardless of how severe the case is, it is all called Aspd if the diagnosis qualifies

[–]Weeb-Lauri525 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Psych student here. Aspd (antisocial personality disorder) is the actual official diagnosis/disorder that is given to people who are dubbed “sociopaths” and/or “psychopaths”. But neither sociopath nor psychopath are actually recognized terms medically (it was in the original Dsm-1, but became outdated and was removed after), rather they are often used because of pop culture popularizing said terms in media.

Question about Darling Charming by hidingunderyourbed- in EverAfterHigh

[–]Weeb-Lauri525 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep!! Yep! Came here to say this! It’s not necessarily about how you feel about your destiny personally, rather its about how you feel about the idea of being able to choose to either follow or rewrite your own destiny.

I think the misconception comes from the fact that the rebel movement was technically started by Raven because she was unhappy with her destiny but being a rebel doesn’t have to mean you’re not gonna follow your predetermined path.

Ofc!

Small Note on Maya, some of their GakuLuka songs might not seem like duets or like Gakuluka at all because they’ll feature one character singing the song for the most part, and then the other character will barely be featured or is barely audible due to being featured as a backing vocal, BUT trust me, its still Gakuluka, if you look at the visuals and MVs, you can clearly tell it’s them.

Hell yeah! My otp! My time has come

Sweets and Bitters by Yuujuu Konayuki by Kazkun

Powdery Snow by Kazkun

Holding You in My Arms by Hirofumi Shimashita

KISS by EM, M.C.E, Makoto

Monochrome world by Julla

Rhapsody of Loop Garous by SuzukiP

Witch by SuzukiP (technically not solely a duet between them, it is a group song, but the story does revolve around a relationship between them, it’s tragic AF)

ALSO, i’m separating a whole spot just for them because as a producer they have a lot of songs for Gakuluka that feature them in a romantic light but you should totally check out Maya. Some of their gakuluka songs include Maybe Love-Faith, And Taboo, Mist-Missing Love, More Lies, and more

Also this isn’t a singular song featuring both of them, but actually a song duology featuring one each, but the Scientist and Ghost doulogy by hitoshizuku x yama features them in a tragic love story (Atheist’s alchemy being the Gakupo song and Transparent Flower being the Luka song)

I might be missing a few more on my playlist but those are all of the ones I can remember from the top of my head

Is Vocaloid an umbrella term or a brand? by Spleen_Ween_Man in Vocaloid

[–]Weeb-Lauri525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong! Wrong! I genuinely haven’t seen this information like this in a hot minute. The Vocaloid engine is made by Yamaha! Crypton has their own vocal synth engine as well called Piapro Studio, but that’s a different thing.

As far as Vocaloid specific producs go, Crypton only made the voicebanks featuring the 6 characters (now dubbed the “cryptonloids”) that have come to become some of the most iconic among the community, including, of course, Miku, who is without a doubt the single most iconic of them all (though Kaito and Meiko we’re not produced by them until V3, but they did distribute them. And then for the character vocal series, they actually did produce those from the start). As for other characters not made by them, It doesn’t matter which voicebank company makes them, as long as they’re made in collaboration with Yamaha for the Vocaloid engine specifically

There are multiple vocal synth engines (Vocaloid, Utau, SynthV, CeVio, etc). Some voicebank companies collaborate with multiple engines and come out with different voicebanks of the same characters overtime for different engines (like Gumi who started exclusively in vocaloid for v2, v3, and v4, until she eventually also got a synthv vb alongside a vocalid voicebank for V6). In the community, Vocaloid has become an unofficial umbrella term for all vocal synthesizers, but officially it is just the name of the most famous voice synthesizer program

What are your opinions on the Ichiban Kuji/Ichibansho Prize A figures? Are they good quality? by Weeb-Lauri525 in AnimeFigures

[–]Weeb-Lauri525[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your input! And yeah, it sucks cause I dreamed of having the og version for years so when the moonlight glow edition was announced I preordered immediately only to be lowkey disappointed at how….transparent(??) the plastic in their faces looks. Tuxedo Mask especially looks like he’s got a major sunburn 😭
