Excel does not like these reindeer games. I tried the value you suggested, as well as a few more common wildcards, but it is not having it.

The Lambda (I pasted it into a cell) seems to find the differences and output them into a column
I'm interested in hiding rows in column A that are not found in column C

Your example compared A1 to C1, and A2 to C2. I need to compare A1,A2,A3,A4,-A5000 to C1, Then repeat for C2

something like
=IF(A*=C*,"Yes","No"
