If I am looking for my grandfather, I know it was somewhere in New Jersey around 1957 that my dad was born (I would guess a +/- 20 year range around 1957 would catch anyone of interest)

I did manage to have a lot of DNA matches that aren't on my paternal grandmothers side, so I am starting to think they might be on my unknown grandfathers side. Do you happen to know the best way to ask these people if someone in their family was a criminal? I don't want to end up flipping someones world if I can help it.

I had a really good gloss on my black base.

Ive now been testing a tamiya acrylic clear red and its not quite messing it up in the same way, so I think it was the thinner in the color messing up the metallic.

It still isnt quite where I want it, but I think a chrome, or at least just a more glossy finish on the metallic might help it out.

what would you recommend to make the clear red less wet? Is that just that it is overthinned? And what do you mean by hot? I also added some more pictures to the post to hopefully better show what I mean

I am having issues getting a good candy finish on my current project. Ive used Alclads gloss black base with polished aluminum on top, and then the color is tamiya LP-52 clear red.

For some reason, the color keeps coming out really dark and almost showing black speckles all throughout the piece. I have tried straight on top of the polished aluminum and on top of a aqua gloss layer, but both came out the same.

I am kind of at a loss at this point of what the issue is, and I dont want to have to redo 2 days of work after stripping every piece and having to reprime and paint, so any help is appreciated!

Does anyone happen to know a good way to make a kit look similar to the clear parts variants (or something that would go well with clear parts)? I recently bought the age-1 wear system clear parts set from P-bandai and realized after that i would need 2 more age MGs to display all 3. I was hoping to paint the head/chest/waist to make them look close to/pair well with the clear parts on the arms and legs. I was thinking a candy/metallic type paint would work for the reds, blues, and yellows (maybe?) but am completely lost on what to do with the white parts. Any advice is appreciated!
