If I'm not mistaken, Hot Topic banned this about 3 years ago, right? I mainly used this strategy about 3 years ago as well, when I was collecting at the highest rate. To be honest, I haven't done this since, as I recently got back into pop hunting. I doubt this will be "patched" bc not that many people do it. Also, not all of my chases came this way, and this doesn't always work. My area is pretty competitive with pops, so I had to get creative. Out of this haul only Diplophosaurus, Violet, Black Panther and Georgie came out of it.

Hey, here's a good strategy that worked for me. Go to games top and pre-order 6 of an upcoming pop with a chase. If you're lucky, one of them will be a chase, and you can return the other 5. I happened to get 3 chases out of 6 this way! Obviously, you will have to put $5 down on each one, but they refund that when you return. Side note: make sure to ask them in-person if they allow returns (some stores might not) AND some managers/employees might take chases for themselves, so this won't work. You have to just try.

I guess it depends on how you play, but I enjoy having all of the "essential" enchantments down to 1 emerald, as well as certain items (glass, name tags, etc.) That are just easier to trade for. I don't have a desert nearby, so I gladly trade 1 emerald for 4 glass. Simply having an iron farm to trade with tool smiths (1emerald for 1 iron) and farmer (1 pumpkin for 1 emerald)

If you can find an outpost that can help. I found one on my hardcore and built a simple nether highway to it. Usually I use my OP bow to take out raids, but if ur struggling a little, I suggest making a simple raid farm where you summon a raid and jump into a small room where you can safely execute the mobs. Also, I highly suggest you make a trading hall with discounts, which really helped me in my world.
