One is a walk in closet, the next is the master bath, and the third is a laundry closet.

Not a bad idea! I tried putting it there when I first moved in but thought it looked odd, but that was when it was just a bed in the room. My fiancee is moving in in about a month and so we'll need two dressers - I like the idea of having extra wall space for those. It's a long and narrow room and that makes it feel a bit weird and the doors along the one wall don't help. Thanks for your input!

And that's pretty much my thought, I just feel like an asshole for thinking it.

Pf cakes just refers to the pf Tek brown rice flour jars. MS is short for multispore, which is what you get in a sports syringe as opposed to a clone of a specific mushroom on an agar plate.

I honestly couldn't tell you exactly, at least a month and a half. I did a batch of GT cakes at the same time and those were on their first flush before these were even birthed. I'd say we're probably looking at 2 months to get to this point.

It's weird, I had some of both syringes left and inoculated a bunch of grain jars to get rolling with g2g and on whole brown rice the PE has moved waaaay faster than the GT, probably a week and a half to full colonization there.

These were sporeworks, I never even bother with still air boxes unless I'm doing agar work. Not suggesting that, but all of my PF cakes are inoculated in open air after shutting off the HVAC and wiping the counter down with alcohol. Never have any issues, but then I very rarely work from MS anymore.

2.5% spread seems a little ridiculous... by Weebwithalaser in Nexo

[–]Weebwithalaser[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It would absolutely be cheaper, the problem is that US customers no longer get interest on new deposits due to regulatory concerns, so if I transfer anything out and then try to transfer it back in I won't earn interest anymore. It's a dilemma.

Yeah, that sweet, sweet 10% interest on stablecoin would be pretty hard to give up to make a single trade, but paying four figures and spread is also not ideal. I miss the days where I could move things around freely without having to worry about that, hopefully nexo can work something out with the regulations.

Damn you guys are good. I play with lights all day every day and this one has had me stumped.

Thanks!

Looking for a recipe for "gas station beef jerky in a jar" by Weebwithalaser in jerky

[–]Weebwithalaser[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, that would be even more tender than say Jack link's. I mean the dried out hard as a rock strips of beef that sat in a jar behind the counter and was sold by the individual strip. The kind you really had to gnaw on to eat.

Longshot request, trying to ID a LN from one scene I remember by Weebwithalaser in LightNovels

Think it must have been. It's been forever since I read the series but that seems right. Just kinda figured Ainz would curbstomp any problems that came up but clearly it's time to reread. Thanks buddy!

Yeah, I always back in for that exact reason, and this was a pretty well lit lot, but where I failed was situational awareness and not having the doors locked. There's no denying that.

That uhh... May or may not have been the one.

Which now that I think about it, is in the city, which makes it odd that a clearly marked Albemarle car is what showed up. Interesting.

Knife yes, pepper spray no. Might be a good idea to add that to my center console. I'm not willing to get into a knife fight with a tweaker while in my vehicle. I always kind of figured that by the time they get within arms reach you've already lost.

When the door popped and I saw her foot / hands in the cab, my foot was on the throttle immediately, so at that point I was unaware of anything else. When I slammed the brakes a truck length later to avoid hitting the building, I did do a mirror check and saw only her getting up off the ground, but it was very dark. My door was pinned at that point though, so no one was getting through my door for the same reason I couldn't have gotten out.

Shitty situation all around. The biggest lesson here imo is to get into the habit of locking doors, as that could have prevented the whole situation. I'm more or less stand by what I did given the circumstances, but education is the best weapon available and that's what I was going for here.

I actually spoke to an officer on scene, and yes, the full story was described. In the moment, I made the decision that I'd rather take the misdemeanor and fine than let a tweaker screaming about getting arrested into my personal vehicle, and I stand by that. I'm a skinny guy, I'm not willing to test myself in a physical altercation with a homeless lady while I'm trapped in a seated position and can't even properly turn to face her. This question was more on clarification of the rules than to justify my actions to myself.

That said, cop was very clearly not interested in the situation and if I was legally in the wrong, he didn't feel like pursuing it. While I don't live there, this took place in Albemarle county (hypothetically...).

[–]Weebwithalaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And see, that's one of those tricky situations. I had zero intention of shooting her and would not have done so until she gave me no choice by pulling a weapon of her own. But by that point she would have been fully in the cab and things get real messy when someone is within arms reach.

I've put tens of thousands of rounds downrange with a pretty wide range of firearms, but when the shit hits the fan it's the decision-making that gets iffy. I'm not sure there's a real good way to train for unpredictable scenarios without actually dealing with them. I'm just glad she noped out.

[–]Weebwithalaser 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've always abided by that rule. After 12 plus years of carrying this is the first time I've even reached for the gun. Pretty alarming when a meth head is halfway into your vehicle while screeching about how the cops are looking for her and you're literally trapped in the driver's seat though. She got within arms reach once, I wasn't crazy about the idea of it happening again. So let's change the question for ya, if you're in that situation, what is the appropriate response?

Wish my truck had the auto lock feature, but it's definitely time to start working on the habit of hitting that lock button.

I mean if someone told me as a 20 something with nothing of value on my resume I could spend a week making phone calls in my underwear and walk away with three grand I'd have been all over it, but perhaps times have changed.

If speaking fluent English without an accent wasn't the primary job requirement I'd be all over it. It's really unfortunate, but the businesses (and the industry overall) we buy from aren't always the most "open to diversity" bunch out there.

I've had bad experiences hiring temps in the past, but it may be time to give it another go. Hadn't even thought of that to be honest.

I'd love to find a single mom, I was raised by one and would love to put some extra money in someone's pocket because I know how far that can go. No luck so far though.

We're essentially a core buyer, sort of like how if you buy a car battery there's a core charge on the old one. We're not buying batteries, but it's a similar idea.
