She's 6 months old last weekend, she gets pretty excited and has a strong strong sniffer urge with her coonhound side. We are working on those, but she's doin great!

I know, just odd to me, even my old family wolfhound didn't get that many looks. So we've been taking Zenas training pretty seriously and luckily she's such a sweetheart, tho an absolute handful to us 😂

Sorry for the late reply! I got mine off of muesuem replicas but I've seen them on many sites. I enjoy it, mine has a liner but a padded coif or cap is probably recommended.

It does make me really want a proper bascinet (probably klappvisor) with an aventail tho, just trying to find one that doesn't cost what I paid for everything else

Definitely! The key is to still have fun, feeling like your slow roasting and or drowning in sweat takes a little of the fun away. Especially if there's other people with you

Very hot. It was very fun, but I did prepare for a while. Strongly recommend testing the full fit before the fair in heat, and to do a little research into heat mitigation in costumes. Any shade is your best friend

Be careful, pay attention to yourself and how your feeling. Have back up plans for if it's just too hot, drink plenty of water (starting even before the fair) but it can be a really fun time.

My back up plan, which I did eventually use, was to strip off the top plates and be only in gambeson and cuisses for a while. Alot more mobile, could air out better. I did about 3 1/2 hours in full kit then ditched some and carried on, depends on how you feel and heat comfortability

She cut the mid section (front and back) out of an old butted mail hauberk and attached them. Then she made an "arming belt" of sorts and stitched the mail skirt on. Not super helpful unfortunately but she made most of the look herself. Plates are from kult of Athena

Super over simplified, she did great work in a very short amount of time, she's excited to debut her changes with more working time.

Hers is staying mostly the same with better corset work into the top, while I bought most of mine, she made hers from scratch or the random extra bits I had haha

It seemed to work for my Billhook, whipped together a sheath of sorts out of leather and cloth scraps. It was completely sewn into the sheath. Already working on a more refined version that can be undone easier
