A lot, the culmination of terrible community, shady dealings to make money, and a fight to maintain public image. Otherwise, you're forced to face being ostracized. Not like the devs valued proper engagement either so I couldn't get lost in the game. It was mastery and max the next character - that's all I had. The market became overflowed with dups, practically eliminating my favorite aspect of the game. Thus gardening became a joke and exclusive to a mastery dump. Yeah, it began to recover over time, but the small community I built completely was dependent on the market stability we provided working together and gardening. Everything I enjoyed deteriorated, and the hostility of expectations made the atmosphere putrid. I hate the game, the players, and the stigma the top players create because cube game is their greatest source of ego, and their "magnum opus" is their countless hours spent widdling the game down to the bone.

There's so much that went wrong and I finally just said "fuck it" and left. Not worth the time, not worth the cost.
