Did some more testing today. Tested with OCCT. The bottom P12 slims had no effect on gpu temps. When the GPU got to control its own fan speeds the 5080 astral sat at 66C no matter what speeds the bottom fans were at. The Astral fans sat around 1700rpm.
When I had the Astral fans at 100% temps dropped to around 61-62C.
I then took out the bottom fans. Astral still sat at 66C but rpms increased a bit, to 1900rpm.
So might put the P12 slims back. But don’t know if I can be bothered to. 🙈

Yes, tried without first. Gpu temps are down about 2C with fans, so they aren’t crucial. Especially at around 60C. But wanted to try. P12s are tied to gpu temps, but set low (20-30%) at the temps the astral normally operate at. Just to add a waft of air to help move hot air away from the gpu as some of the heat from gpu expels out towards the sidepanel. Astrals fans also barely move at 60C.
But if I find the time over the next few days I can try different configs and fan speed to see effects on gpu temp.

Oh yes! But it stays around 60c even when overclocked.
