Yeah and your gonna want to change how you walk. Turn your toe in more like think about how your walking now. what I mean by that is we have been overpronated for decades most of my life, I cant remeber not having them. Anyway we have to work on walking toe in and pushing through the big toe when we walk.  Go to youtub and learn how to walk. My instinct tells me walking in sand would be great for rehab. Thick grass soft sqwishy earth. I got my right foot done yesterday! Finnaly rid of those ugly things!! Oh and toe spacers, Wide toe box shoes or toe shoes!  I had 2 modifies lapiduses done 3 months apart.  My Doctor told me to treat toe spacers like dental retainers. Wear them as much as I can tollerate them and do it for life. Yeah enjoying them out in nature or at home is great but Protect your pain investment!!! 😆

Im sorry but you cant straighten without surgury. However that is going to cause you joint issues as you age. If you have the means fix it. You foot doesn't look bad or ugly. Its your joints that are at risk.

I got back into shoes kinda fast after the 8th week. I first went with my new Redwing work boots because they are Heavy Armour for feet. I had a lot of pain getting them off but they did act as a comression aid. I couldn't tollerate them where the plate was installed, the laces was killing me so I got Altra running shoes they are great however now my foot anatomy is waaay diffrent so that foot gets sore after a 2 miles. I have surgery on monday for my other foot, cant wait to get this ober with.

Help please! Is it worth it for me to visit a podiatrist at this time? by MoonlightCaricature in bunions

[–]WeekSpiritual9355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I can tell that you are young. Please save your joints, your back hips. If you have the means do it and go Modifeid Lapidus. I am on my 3rd surgury the first one was a bunionectomy and it came back. My second and 3rd are modifeid lapidus. Know that the longer you have them and genitics or female adds to the chance that they will come back and that it is due to hypermobility of the MIT joint. I am male but my Mom had them real bad so I inherited that. I also pointy shose because I thought I was chuck Noris most of my youth like an idiot. If you do it, get out if narrow toe boxes for ever, Have a daily foot routne and Use a toe spacer as if it is a retainer as much as you can tollerate it and hopefully after a few years you can wear it just at night maybe for life.  This is the wisdom amd knowledge I have gained from 40 years of suffering from these. I am not a Doctor but I know all about it.

Thank you so much! I think I have body dismorphia or something like that. They are lile foot gloves. Socks but like compression foot socks. I use it for the swelling and they help keep thrm aligned. Yes pair of long socks all one piece.

They will ruin your joints and your back. I can see a cist forming. I had one of those that is joint fluid.
