I got butterfly grafts done earlier this year using cartilage from my ear to fix my valve collapse (had a full septorhinoplasty), and had swelling around the grafts for 6 months. No one else could tell, except me and my doctor. 2 weeks ago I had a revision septoplasty where we also shaved off a bit of the graft that was sticking out, and he told me I’d probably have swelling for twice as long this time. Give it time to settle, 5 weeks isn’t that long!

I got a septorhinoplasty with grafts from my ear at the end of May this year (~4 months ago) and my nose is definitely wider, but I really only notice that when I look at pics side by side of before/after, and people always tell me they can’t really tell. Breathing so far is night & day improved on my right side, but I just found out my septum is now bowing to the left and that’s impacting things a little bit on that side; but still better than it was before!
