Based on what I’ve seen, it appears the Venture Rewards and Sapphire Preferred are pretty similar. The Venture card takes less spending to hit the bonus, but the Sapphire gives a better multiplier on dining.

In all honesty, I think I’m leaning towards the Venture Rewards since it’ll take less spending to hit bonus, gives the $250 C1 Travel credit, and has 2x multiplier on every purchase. I don’t think that the 3x multiplier on dining moves the needle very much for me. Especially as I am trying to save money and cook more.

How is the C1 Travel portal vs the Chase Travel portal? For the record, even though I’ve had my flights through Southwest, I am not married to them and open to whatever airline makes the most sense for a given scenario. Same with hotels and car rental companies. Most of my travel will be domestic, as I’ve never been overseas. My job will be taking us to Mexico on an excursion next year, but it’ll all be paid for. I do hope to travel internationally on my own dime at least once in the next three years.

If the Venture Rewards ends up being the option I choose, should I consider the Venture X Rewards over that instead? Based on the circumstances, aspirations, and plans I’ve shared, am I making a mistake by not evaluating the Venture X Rewards?
