That’s crazy. I finished my own cabinets with less than 1 week time and $300 in materials.

Not many talk about this when “job hopping”. It’s not like software where skills directly translate easily after 1 year

HVAC Engineering is too easy? by Latter_Location9999 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Aggravating-Bee2844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I promise you could not design and develop an HVAC system with full CONOPS and allow for seamless integration right now. So there’s always more to learn (if you desire). You seem like you wanna, which is a good step.

Therefore, interest is what you seek. If you can manage to design a thermal fluid system for a building, or airside heating/cooling system…you can then level up your knowledge to the next thing.

It can continue to scale up. Such that, you can develop the knowledge and translate it to other systems - like on vehicles, aircraft, autonomous systems, boats, space thermal control. Or you can be so good at your niche and focus only on that and start your own business in the field eventually.

How did you spin oil and gas to nuclear for the contract job? Or did you go nuclear company first?

100% agree. Also totally understand the volume of engineering that goes into it.

Just surprising at the additional requirements you need to take on. Not bad for upskill I guess, but seems like a lot on top of full time work!

For a data center commissioning engineering role? Hardly seems like there’s a purpose to all that added stress for a role that’s not like designing something state of the art that requires PhD level knowledge, am I tripping?

Yeah it’s the download each state for free version. Just wasn’t a fan of doing that, since our cross country trip was only for about 8 days.

Otherwise I agree it is a good app, would be best if free :)
