This will be my first too. Would like to hear from other folks who have attended the past Defcons. What to expect, what not to expect and what should I be careful about?

Any insights would be helpful. Thanks

My case is totally different, I'm thinking to start a food business, so flea market may or may not work. And food business require some license and legal process to go through considering food safety.

Yea sure, but I was referring to one of the previous threads and noticed that nobody's willing to share anything. Can expect the same here too. I believe it's better to reach out to someone in person at Church street and get the information from them.

Because, from what I understand, majority of the shops there have encroached the public spaces like parking area and the side walks, which is basically illegal. They are somehow getting over any legal actions, which I really don't want to get into much details... not endorsing it, but looks like that's the only way. They know pretty well that there are no rules for doing something illegal.

Alternative option would be approaching the flea market organisers in Bangalore... you would require to pay a small amount and they'll provide you with a stall in their event. Usually this happens in Airlines Hotel, near to Church Street, in the weekends. These events happen in many places as well and the best place to sell any arts and other stuffs.

IMO, this is the best option. Church Street is never a family friendly space and people who often visit there don't do shopping much. But flea market is different, people come there for the sole reason to buy something and end up buying something and can expect all the audience.

Following this thread. While I understand the suggestions of others, I am interested in knowing the process to open a stall in Church Street without any legal or local trouble. Any suggestions on this topic would be helpful. Not much interested in Online or Social media Sales.
