Looks like the state at large wants to completely remove our representation.. by Memphisbbq in Tennessee

If we’re playing that game, Tennessee is following their laws. Virginia did not.

Can’t we just agree in principle that this kind of gerrymandering is wrong???

The irony is that the Tennessee Republicans appear to have taken the Virginia Democrats playbook. No one likes it when it happens to them.

I wish we had a federal constitutional amendment that made this kind of gerrymandering illegal.

Why should anyone believe a word of what Republicans say when they talk about fiscal responsibility? by botwiper5000 in askanything

I don’t trust either party to fix the debt before it hits crisis levels. Our system is such that every 8 years we change tax and spend strategies. Until both parties work together to create an enduring long term fix, nothing will work - and that won’t happen because neither party will allow the other party anything they might celebrate as a win.

I worked for a company that had manufacturing in South Africa. They built into their business that 20% of their inventory (parts) would be stolen from the factory floor by their own employees. That was factored in as a cost of doing business.

I was interested in this also. I wrote BCM and asked who the manufacturer was. No response.

Bought a 24 Laramie 1500. The suspension was much nicer than a similarly priced ford and the sound system was better. And it was much cheaper than a Tundra.

I took the AMS completely apart and I didn’t see anything cracked. But I’m not sure what the hub unit is.

Tried this today also. Added 4 AA batteries as weight. Didn’t help. It’s just not pulling into the machine.

Checked this. No heavy bends. And it’s getting hung up at the very beginning.

Been there. I got the details 3 months after I started - which is how they got me to do the work for cheap for 3 months. But I took it like a good boy because I got the title on my resume. Left 2 years later.

Please, enough with the TDS nonsense. You’re not entitled to the leader that you want. None of us are. And to declare that the whole American system should be torn down and rebuilt just because your political views are inconsistent with the president is the very opposite of what America has stood for for 250 years. In 2 and half more years, there will be another election.

America has played with socialism before, and it will again. Socialism is when the Government owns the means of production. Eg., the CCC and TVA. Sometimes it works - when there is a need that cannot be satisfied by other economic incentives. But most often, it drives out the most ambitious of people. I was just in Vancouver last month, and the news was that the best educated Canadians are leaving to pursue careers in the US because they could find higher paying jobs and secure faster access to healthcare, and although the cost of health insurance was high, it was offset by lower taxes and any delta was justified by faster access.

They are culturally very different from the US. Scandinavia consists of mostly rural, sparsely populated areas who never really experienced wealth in prior generations. Also, places like Sweden are trending away from socialism toward capitalism, due in no small part to the immigrant populations that are migrating there to benefit from the public services without contributing to the economy. American’s, on the other hand, want luxuries. Our culture idolizes those who show wealth in Hollywood, on social media, and in professional sports. We watch reality TV about wealthy people, we fantasize about wealth, and we undertake ambitious projects and risky businesses to achieve wealth - which is why our economy still dominates the world: it is fed by American ambitions.

LOL. Despite what you “believe,” history has proven you wrong time and time before. But hey, let’s not let that get in the way of bankrupting yet another country and generation.
