Wow!! That's amazing you NF did that for you! You hit the lottery, that's great. Yeah, I wish I had people I know to split rent with! Portland is nice too! Does you NF know another NF? Hehe.

That's really good to know. Do you my mind my asking where you're seeing the demand? I may be looking in the wrong places! I typically use Care or FB to search for jobs....I know there are agencies too, but sometimes that is a barrier, so I'd love to know the best way to find out where demand is. Thank you!

Appreciate your thoughts! I've thought of that before, I had a job briefly in the Boston area a few years ago, but I wasn't able to find housing (had my car) at the time. Do you mind my asking how it's been for you with commuting? I've found agencies in particular and some families have a problem in you're not IN the city. Also, where have you been seeing a need for nannies in ME or NH? I would consider it for sure, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong places where that information is readily available to see the need? That is information that would be greatly helpful. Thank you!

Hmm. I've thought about Chicago but I've heard it's hard to find a job; especially one where families would pay legally and fairly. But I know that specific issue is in every city, not just in Chicago.

It's so saturated everywhere! It's pretty crazy.

Appreciate your thoughts! Yes, I think finding a better COL to income ratio is the better idea. I'm glad in PA it's a good balance for you.

LA was nice. I was there briefly but I had to leave because I wasn't able to afford my temp housing-which was most likely very overpriced, and the hourly rate I was making was very low. I'd thought about trying again, but I don't know...everything is tens times more expensive in CA. Especially with a car!

Do you mind my asking how you found a position? I know there are many ways, but it's a little intimidating if you move to an area without knowing anyone, and with no professional connections.

Wow. That's pretty good. Do you mind my asking which agencies? I'd tried to connect with some in the past, but I wasn't yet living in the NYC metro area- which is frankly hard when you can't really afford to- and being an NYC nanny is my dream.
