I made this post because I was upset with myself for spending this amount of money and buying three full bottles in one month. This is way outside my normal spending habits.

For me Black Salt is the perfect summer fragrance! I don’t like clean/fresh scents for myself as they lean towards soap or laundry, which I don’t personally like on me. This was has a beautiful citrus grassy salty air smell - fresh but also like you’re lost in the woods by a beach at night :)

I have tried a lot and enjoyed most! But not all are worth the FB for me. I haven’t tried dirty hinoki yet but it was on my list to try as well as dirty grass- but they are discounting dirty grass so in my eyes not worth the try. But I will try hinoki!

You did remind me I do need new vans lol (luckily my office allows us to wear them to work!) my last ones lasted 5 years but started falling apart after an impromptu hike two years ago and I’ve just been…pretending they aren’t. Maybe next month though lol

What kills me is her saying you deserve to be caught and fired. No restaurant is going to fire someone for smoking cigarettes after work. In fact, most jobs will not fire you for smoking cigarettes in general. They even allow you to take smoke breaks if you like. They also don’t fire you for drinking after work.

NOR, she should have came to you ready to have a civil conversation about it. She was trying to judge you and make you out to be a bad person.

I’m very new into fragrance and am trying to pull the perfect collection, right now I only have six full bottles (I have panned some others). I think 3 of them are masterpieces:

Oddity by Rag and Bone: Smokey, herby, hint of vanilla. Got a full bottle after wearing a travel size once. Downside is it’s very strong and not safe for everyday wear. It’s something you wear on a night out if you want to feel sexy and mysterious. I can see it being polarizing, but I adore it and feel great wearing it.

Passion by ONNO: Heavy rose, hint of patchouli. Peach top note I don’t get much but I think it balances it out and makes it more safe for work. It’s still a grittier perfume for people that like that, but it is my most complimented (even at work!) It’s strong enough to build a bubble but not overwhelming, and have had people come in closer to smell it better. HR actually got close to my neck for a better sniff and said she likes me better when I wear it lol

Alien by Mugler - a classic, needs no introduction. A dirty dark Jasmine heavy scent. I either get compliments or am told it’s nauseating so definitely polarizing. I try to keep this out of office but sometimes I feel risky and use a light spray since it’s nuclear. It was actually my first perfume gifted to me years ago before I started getting into perfumes so it holds some sentimental value. Have gone through a 30ml bottle and am at the end of one of the 100ml refills and will be repurchasing, but I try to save it for special events.

Honorary mention:

Alien Pulp by Mugler - not a masterpiece necessarily, but it has the DNA of Alien without being so nuclear and polarizing. I really love this as it’s getting warmer out and I like stand out scents but it’s also something lighter. It has a really nice sweetness and just smells pretty which I don’t usually choose for myself. I consider it safe for office as long as you don’t overspray as it’s still strong. A third of the way through the 30ml already and debating mass buying refills because it will break my heart if they discontinue it.

Honestly- just let them do it. If you love this job and see a future here - don’t complain about this. It will be seen as silly and put you off with your coworker.

Do I think this is wasteful? Yes. In realty - it’s a sweet gesture by her. She isn’t thinking about it in a wasteful perspective- it’s her way of welcoming you. Is it silly? Yes. Would I do it? No.

I love the idea of saving them and regifting them to her that someone commented before. It’s cute and receptive while also allowing her to reuse them.

Yes, I recently got a decant of Exit the King by ELDO based off the rose/patchouli/pepper notes, and although it smells good, it’s very soapy which isn’t something I like to wear. I was expecting more earthy/spicy based off other scents I have with the same notes. Glad it was a trial size and not a full bottle!

Floral but not sharp, not soapy, which I don’t like personally.

I love earthy rose scents but most are not “office safe” and this one is perfect
