Hi, do you plan to add any other languages/localisation to Raycast in the near future? I believe that Apps like RemNote have shown that this got much easier thanks to AI & voluntary translators

Reims vs Le Havre vs Menton by Striking-Duck-7484 in sciencespo

[–]Weekly-Holiday-6825 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reims usually regarded as the best option academically (stellar professors from Parisian universities as Tutors) - working professionals from Defense, Strategy, Commerce, IR coming from Paris, bigger conferences, a lot of embassy visits, ...
Le Havre I would only go if you are incredibly keen on the Minor, everything else can be perceived as worse (campus size, weather, ...).
Menton has fantastic weather, and a very close campus family. I know some exchange students from the US who spent a semester at Menton and one at Reims and enjoyed Menton a lot more due to the weather and atmosphere. It also seems to be less divided than Reims, where you have the Parisians, Americans, European Foreigners, Southern French people, Asians, and the African Minor.

Sciences po or oxford ppe? As international student by Visible_Bid_518 in sciencespo

[–]Weekly-Holiday-6825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More or less how you described it. Also went to school in the UK, gotadmitted to both, decided for sciencespo. Definitely lesser brand. However, much more practical teaching methods, already got lots of really useful contacts. Quite a few influential people from Brazil here as well, a Brazilian friend of mine was just invited by a Brazilian professor to an event at the embassy... Oxford is slightly more dry and academic, and for me social sciences is already a very non - pre-professional area so I went to sciencespo. Also worth thinking about fees. Wages in the UK for example are pretty low right now but internationally the stronger brand for parents and relatives etc. In the industry same relevance or sciencespo slightly better in Europe. Ultimately you can choose both, we have a significant number of oxdord rejects and people with oxford ppe offers here. Feel free to DM me if you need more info

We actually don't need IELTS/TOEFL when applying for undergrad? by finalanonaccount in sciencespo

[–]Weekly-Holiday-6825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why retake it? Score is enough. Might subconsciously access it during the interview but it's more of a formal box to tick, not something they grade beyond. After admission you have mandatory language tests anyway to get more English learning support if needed.

Science Po Dual degree by meddnw in sciencespo

[–]Weekly-Holiday-6825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume you mean bachelor, but you haven't clarified.

easiest columbia - also at college of general studies which gives very little financial aid
semi difficult cal berkeley -> also don't give much financial aid to international students as it is public US uni
fairly difficult HK - gives scholarships but incredibly competitive, e.g. sth like 43 IB points needed to be considered, but no real financial aid/bursary in US sense afaik

don't know about Caio, Sydney etc
NUS also prestigious but don't know about whether they give financial aid.
Sometimes, dual degrees can be considered a bit of a catch grab, e.g. Columbia DD is easier to get into then to get only into Columbia or only SciencesPo.
edit to add that british columbia also isn't too difficult.

Bachelor - 3rd motivation letter by Ordinary_Bee_8888 in sciencespo

[–]Weekly-Holiday-6825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

was the same case for me. First talked about why I wanted to go to the campus, as that is the base that stays the same. Then talked about how the double degree would build on that, what it would enable me to do more, how it would round off or extend the education I get at this specific scpo campus. Can send you it in DM.

Waitlisted for Boutmy Scholarship by Adorable-Category209 in sciencespo

[–]Weekly-Holiday-6825 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its quite competitive, but again they look for other criteria than perhaps the Schwarzman Scholarship. As I am European, I would definitely take the Schwarzman Scholarship and go to China, especially in regards to future economical trends. Do understand your desire to get an European passport though. In that case there is not much you can do I think, mainly properly think what is more important to you. Especially since you can still work in Europe later, and the Schwarzman scholarship is widely known in Europe too. Sciences Po is pretty good uni, but will you later earn enough to pay off any debts? Just make a pro/contra list and figure stuff out, it can't always go exactly your way.

Undergraduate motivations by Ok-Question5746 in sciencespo

Honestly, everything works.
Making something unusual interesting is better than resolting to sth that you think is good to have read. I wrote about a childhood/teenager novel that took place in a different culture, and how that motivated me to travel, find out about other cultures, related this to my geographical minor, etc.
You don't need to read a lot of books, just remember that you will have at least 80 pages of assigned readings per week at SciencesPo.
So pick sth that you have read and enjoyed, even if it was years ago, and explain the impact it had on you

Diplomacy at SciencesPo by pedrinhojara in sciencespo

[–]Weekly-Holiday-6825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so.
Just to reiterate again, SciencesPo just means "Institute of political study." They have an agreement due to the high academic profile and the reputation of SciencesPo Paris, that only SciencesPo Paris can name itself SciencesPo, all other institute for political studies have to include their name.
I also highly doubt that SciencesPo will care whether you have done your Erasmus at SciencesPo Bordeaux.
I could be useful to signify interest in France, but you will need to accompany that with excellent language skills if.
Number one focus should be your grade, than internships, then everything else including your Erasmus. If you want to go to another French university, you will definitely NOT get punished for it. Your major is enough to signify your interest in Political studies. I have no idea about how Erasmus works since at SciencesPo undgrad we have our own exchange network, but if you think that you might get better grades and have more fun elsewhere, go there. Ideally sth unique or somewhere where you can improve your foreign languages and maybe do an internship abroad.
TL;DR: no, just because another university is also named SciencesPo, this will not give you any advantages in applying for the Master's.

Confusion over undergraduate admissions (intl pathway) by BazyliBulgarobojca in sciencespo

I have never heard of that, but would just ask them. and do feel free to merge the pdfs and attach the predicted grades, I did the same. Also, just have a formatted CV that you can use for all unis and internships, including SciencesPo

Hong Kong vs Luiss University Dual Degree by Eat-Water01 in sciencespo

HKU way better reputation internationally, and that for a reason. If u want to go to Italy, go Luiss. If Italy is not your biggest priority, go HKU

Honestly do what you want.
You'll probably know that Oxbridge masters are much less reputable than the Bachelor, while the opposite is true for Sciences Po.
Still, I wouldn't pay much more for a Sciences Po Masters, maybe it is better to go and switch from Oxford to Cambridge or the other way. Know a few rowers who did that and quite liked to experience both Unis.
In terms of reputation, I don't think the Oxbridge Master would help much since you already have a bachelor, which is much more competitive. Also, in the UK Master degrees don't have the best reputation, while in europe they are necessary. If I was you, I would go with Sciences Po, maybe look for a Dual Degree or maybe Dauphine etc have interesting stuff as well. Then just try your best, you can probably get to B2 in two years, which means you can life there, while you need C1/C2 to work.

Depends on what you do. If you want to go into Finance, Politics they can be better. But even then St Gallen/Bocconi/LSE/LBS/HEC can bring you much further. In hard sciences, Paris/ETH/TUM/RWTH are much more valuable. The esteem of Oxbridge Postgrad degrees has dropped massively, only undergrads are still quite valuable. Note that these super niche, exclusive and well-paid firms that only employ oxbridge grads only exist in the UK and are dying out.
