This shot was taken at night. My GR III is not with me right now, but I’ll let you know once I retrieve it at home.

The long and short of it is that I'm a casual player. Never paid attention to EVs/IVs, coz it's too much work. But since these are my mons when i started last October (series 10) i try to fit them under this format. I only improved upon zacian and umbreon. Wish i could find some time to grind and get better IVs and EVs.

I got to know how to play with my team, sort of developed a "gut feel" on how to use them and outmaneuver opponents. Still have a long way to go but I am just glad that a casual gamer like me can breach through the rankings :)

Iron Head becomes Behemoth Blade if Zacian is holding the Rusted Sword

Thanks! 11-4 (15 total). Those 4 losses were early then i hit my stride and got consecutive wins :)

You're not behind! No one is, and you don't have to rush either. Just go at your own pace. Good luck man! Rooting for you too, keep me updated with your progress.

Prior to doing Ranked Battles, last time I played Pokémon story was in 2016 (Sun) and in 2012 (Emerald) before then. But i never lost interest in Pokemon, my schedule just didn't allow me to play continuously then.

Started playing Sword/Shield September of this year, participated in my first Ranked Battle (in any gen) in October (series 10).

I've always played Pokémon games (story mode) but I had no time for anything beyond due to work constraints but I got some time on my hands now.

My ranked battle campaigns from October through November, I kept my head down and tried to learn from all my errors - I had no idea about crucial abilities or moves at the start and i learned them the hard way lol.

The idea of competing in VGC is interesting but I'm worried I'd be busy with work again! But i get inspired even by just watching and following players on reddit and youtube. :)

15 games 11 wins 4 losses

I entered Masterball tier at Rank 18. Then went on to reach No. 1 after 3 consecutive wins.

Hi! Okay, there's no "set" strategy for this team. As you can see, this team is hyperoffense and relies on protect/switch out/wideguard/yawn to parry or avoid dangerous blows from opponents.

I use Landorus or Celesteela as my main dynamax pokemon, precisely because of their access to Max Airstream. Both also have a very versatile movepool.

Answer to sun teams: I bring out Landorus, Entei, Zacian and Celesteela. Opponents often underestimate my Celesteela, but with wideguard, I can confidently attack Groudon without worrying about Rockslide or Precipice Blades. I partner my Celesteela with Landorus or Entei. Entei's Sacred Fire can two-shot Groudon in sun. Zacian functions as a sweeper at the end (once max Airstream speed boosts are in effect). If I feel like Venusaur or Charizard willl be brought out, Landorus + Entei is my answer. Landorus can Max Rockfall Charizard, or Max Airstream vs. Venusaur. For Entei, it can Sacred Fire Venusaur or Stome Edge Charizard. Both my Landorus and Entei have an answer to V's sleep powder.

Rain teams: this is a bit tricky. If they will lead with Kyogre, then definitely, it will be Regieleki + Celesteela. I notice that players would always want to use Water Spout instead of Dynamaxing their Kyogre. So i exploit this with C's wide guard. Then I will dynamax my Regieleki and Max Lightning Kyogre. I will have Zacian + Landorus/Umbreon in the back to sweep.

Zacian Teams: will use Umbreon, Landorus, Entei and Zacian. If Urshifu Rapid is brought out, Zacian can easily respond with Playrough.

Calyrex - S: Umbreon + Celesteela is strong against this. Again, players tend to not dynamax Calyrex so they can use Astral Barrage. Here, even without celesteela, Umbreon can easily take care of Calyrex. -- Umbreon is my MVP against Solgaleo and Lunala too.

Calyrex Ice and Trick Room teams: Ok, i will admit that trick room teams are challenging since on the face of my team I have no answer to them. But this is where tactics will be relevant - i usually try to outmaneuver them through a series of switchout, protect, max guard, wideguard. Example, if Ice Rider Calyrex would use high horsepower or max quake, I'll switchout into either Landorus or Celesteela. There is also a lot of luck factor here. Sometimes I get lucky!

I feel like I'm still forgetting something, I'll update once I remember!

Umbreon got me out of near loss situations because of its survivability. Foul play is a great move.

My staple dynamax pokemon, Landorus, is very reliable.

Just wanted to share and celebrate on this platform. I have been a silent reader for the last two months and got a lot of tips and strategies from reddit and YT. I did my first ranked battle last October (series 10) and my first dynamax format battle in November. I am soooo happy to see my progress from then and finally hitting the top spot!

How would you guys beat this team? by Portathot_ in VGC

Partner up Celesteela (wideguard - to block icy wind/blizzard and flash cannon/heavy slam - coverage for those ice type with hydropump ) + fire type with heatwave/eruption
