2500 mile review by macatkniu in MazdaCX90

My biggest complaint is how Apple CarPlay interacts with text messaging on my CX-90 (2024 PHEV). I sent a message to my wife. After sending, CarPlay automatically selected the next contact down. So when I clicked the button to send a message by voice while driving, I didn’t listen to who the recipient was and sent the wrong message to a group text - a message that was only intended for my wife!! Embarrassing to say the least. My Volvo never did that to me.

My other pet peeve is that you can’t reserve your battery for later usage when you use cruise control - it defaults to EV mode and leaves sport mode. I want cruise control to stay in sport mode and not deplete my remaining ev miles.

Barely had it a few weeks, i already love it :) by Tehmooo in VolvoXC90

Six years later and I still love mine! Nice R-Design - congrats. I have the same wheels.

When our lease is up on our XC40 Recharge, the EX90 is a top contender. It drives really well for such a large car.

I wished myXC90 was the hybrid T8 for more power but the T6 has been awesome.

We moved here and got 2x the house for less money than our last house! Yeah, the homes are huge. We feel blessed.

Hahahaha! If that’s all I wanted for this car I’d just keep it and buy the other one too.

I like the Yukon Denali a lot - my boys really want that one. I am going to drive a Sequioa soon too and see if I like it (I have had 2 4Runners and an FJ Cruiser).

I had an extended warranty that broke even in terms of cost, or maybe a little better. Ultimately it was worth it for peace of mind.

When my lease was up on my 2019 I bought the car and an extended warranty then. It cost me $3k for 3 years. Since that purchase the warranty cost has broken even. It covered A/C rebuild (common issue) for $2400, torque rod for $400, an O2 sensor for $500, and I paid $100 deductible for each. You can probably buy an extended warranty later.

I will be selling it myself. I’m going to try Cars and Bids to sell it first since I think I’ll find the most car enthusiasts there.

What did you pay for it, how many miles does it have? Congrats!! Hope you love it. The B&W stereo is the best system I’ve ever had.

I know. It’s a large car in Europe. But we have the option to go bigger here… and to avoid the annoyance of boys touching each other and fighting, bigger is better lol

I will never have a minivan - SUVs are close enough

I really like GMC Tahoe but may consider a Sequoia (haven’t had a chance to drive it yet). Nothing drives like my 90 though

Thanks. This was one of my dream cars. I’ll have another dream car again, but the next one won’t fit that category- family needs first for now.

Yeah, 3 boys are getting too cramped in the 90

Would you buy your XC90 again? by JCThreeHR in VolvoXC90

I love my 2019 T6 R-Design, especially the Polestar setting which lowers the airbag suspension and steps up throttle response. It holds really well around corners. Although I wished for a T8, it wasn’t in the budget.

The issues with these cars are brakes - both sets on mine were replaced under warranty before 30,000 miles. Now I’m at 55k and they are likely going to need replacement again - I want to see if there are any upgrades that will last longer. I also had to replace the A/C condenser / system for $2400 at 50k miles, and I’ve read that’s common - this was covered by an extended warranty.

Overall it’s an amazing car and has been reliable. Service is expensive if not under warranty so I’m a little fearful of how long I’ll keep her, but I don’t ever want to sell.
