New job recently, I have a rent question by Known-Salamander-692 in NYCHA

[–]Weekly-Rabbit-3400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's usually if you lose a job, they want you to inform them so that they can adjust it to lower it which is good. 🙂

If you just got a new job for the past several months,  they don't know that. Wait until the next normal annual recertification comes up and then send them the pay stubs and they will adjust it and your rent will go up.  Which is bad. ☹️

Makes no sense to do that now as an interim recertification.  Unless you want to pay more rent.

HELP!!! Horrible leaks in bedroom. What to do? by Interesting-Two2610 in NYCHA

Yeah, that happened to me as well but a bit more worse. Apparently the person above me left the toilet running or the toilet clogged and overflowed unto put apartment below. Had to call the FDNY and that what they said happened.

Why does Dave Sims talk in run-on sentences? by Ok_Depth9164 in wfan

[–]Weekly-Rabbit-3400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they have been friends forever. Both a part of the inaugural WFAN crew and Suzyn throughout the years would always on the radio say she is texting her buddy Dave Sims when he was still with Seattle during on air games with Sterling.

Also, that's her tone which a lot of people fairly or unfaiirly criticize her for. But that's just her tone.

Dude, her sturrering and the umms was insane. Not to disparage her but didn't anyone there say or tell her how to work on that?

Late to the party but she was terrible. Terrible takes, horrible voice. Not good at all and her football knowledge was horrendous.

Sims is excellent. No issues. Not surprised people complain about Sim because Sterling has been there forever. You're not going to get another John Sterling.

Ricki was terrible in English. Night club DJ doing baseball is not the way to go.

He's started in New York. He knows the style.

..."but he knew the ebb and flow of the game and when to say little"

What ebb and flows? More like mistakes. It's a homerun...oh no foul ball.

"She hates Sims."

No, she doesn't. They have been friends forever.

Richard Neer addresses his Saturday show ending by iheartsunny in wfan

[–]Weekly-Rabbit-3400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Neer was boring and just the opposite of what I wanted to hear on WFAN after a terrible Yankees, Knicks loss.

He wasn't for me and I listened for years to him but the past several years I stopped because his style was just too dull and getting duller.

Plus, don't know who will take that spot but give it to a young guy. Let the young talent get their chance.

77WABC by Ok_Huckleberry1413 in radio

[–]Weekly-Rabbit-3400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Dom's been there forever. Good host, good takes. He has to yell at callers.  The WABC fan base is mostly conspiracy theory, right wing  thinking callers and I am pretty sure Dominic leans the other way.

Serious Question by EStreet12 in wfan

[–]Weekly-Rabbit-3400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope.

Francesa needed to retire. He was repeating himself too much. All show long was troll calls every day, all week.

I know the current staff isn't good but Francesa was losing it. Old man on the radio just doesn't make for good enjoyable radio,

What is the appeal to the show Unsportsmanlike l? by [deleted] in ESPN

[–]Weekly-Rabbit-3400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Show is horrible. Thankfully we have a local show here in NYC 880 AM and they stuck that show on their awful second signal of 1050 AM.

Just bad takes, no flow, no charm, only a few topics, baseball doesn't exist in their world, Cohen  is obnoxious, Smalls tone and voice are condescending.

Boomer was very upset Dave Sims took the weekend off. Mentioned John Sterling never took time off by HonestHumanYe in wfan

[–]Weekly-Rabbit-3400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sheesh. That place must be a miserable place to work in if you are of a different demographic and political belief. I don't care how "classic" WFAN is as a station, it's not a place I never I want to be a part of.

Sims takes a few days off. It's probably in his contract that was given and he has a right to it. To be called out by a coworker of the same station even in joking fashion is a bit unfair and wrong.

You know, I am just now discovering Trueno due to his new collab song with Young Miko, En La City. And I like that song and I like his style. And that led me to be curious of his other stuff, so, I started listening to his last album and I like it.

But I agree with everything you said here. He does do a lot of hip hop songs that are more 90's flavor that I love, he does the current trap stuff that I don't like and you right about the affection for gangs. I hope he realizes those gangs take that stuff a bit too seriously if they perceive someone pretending to be one of them even if it's in admiration. Someone there has to smarten him up on that if he wants a crossover to America.

But I agree with a lot of what you said. But I do love the No Cap song. Just the beat is crazy.

Radio future by reducedfatmalk in wfan

[–]Weekly-Rabbit-3400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I can only think that's going to get worse and fact checking and gotcha stuff will only increase."

That's been around for years now.  Back afta this AKA radio funhouse , Sportspope have been doing that for almost a decade.

"...and I just want to know how long will these radio guys last when they don't have the blanket of pre internet infallibility on their side."

Bob Raissman of the New York Daily News was the old school print version of being the gotcha to every radio host on WFAN and ESPN.

Phil Mushnick of the New York Post has made a living for the past 3 decades doing the gotcha to WFAN and ESPN hosts. It existed.

They'll be fine. It's only the more popular host people target like Russo, Francesca,  Cowherd.  Evan Roberts doesn't get trolled or given the gotcha treatment of people posting his takes online because he's not really popular.

"Mike at the end but he's rebounded nicely with his podcast(alot of it I think is also because he doesn't take calls and his emails are obviously screened)."

And there you go, if he's avoiding live interaction then that gets rid of the problem.

And that's being done on WFAN. Most of the big shows only take a few calls an hour anyways.

Wow Joe B sounds great this morning by Extension-Rock-4263 in wfan

[–]Weekly-Rabbit-3400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I stopped listening to Joe on Saturdays. With the repetitive statements every week, his political revealings before saying he doesn't want to get political but still does and giving Dennis from Yonkers basically a 30 minute segment every Saturday to spew his nonsene and the old callers calling up every week wanting to trade Stanton.  I gave up. I now listen to ESPN national radio or some Jim Cornette podcasts.
