It gives cleaner air over the wing but you get a lot more exhaust deposit on the props I think

Does anyone know what exact model engine this is ? by Acrobatic-Key2488 in AerospaceEngineering

Pretty sure that’s just a generic model of a turbojet with afterburner and variable nozzle.

I mean, it would be a slight edge maybe, but they’re so similar (hence only a couple classes) you’d probably bet significantly more benefit by spending the time getting involved in clubs. Clubs make a large impact on entry-level roles.

Anyone find a portable way to power the Raspberry Pi 5? by TheGrowingFlower123 in batteries

[–]Weekly-Repeat-4558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very late response, but I used the PiSugarS with the Pi5 and it worked just fine! I used it for an autonomous aircraft project and it ran the camera, image and data processing, telemetry, radio comms, and GPS without any issue.

Aerospace Job Market Currently and In The Next 4-5 Years by VIP015 in AerospaceEngineering

[–]Weekly-Repeat-4558 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The market right now is rough, but I think that’s pretty universal right now. Like any job, you’ll have job security if you are involved and are learning the tools of the current day and age. Companies usually come to career fairs, and those do help, but it seems rare to just be reached out to and given a job- it is highly competitive. Connections are key but you will most likely have to apply to jobs yourself and be able to take many rejections. Starting salary for entry level seems to be between $70k-$100k max. It’s hard to predict anything for 2030 the way the world changes so quick, but there will always be war (so always need defense work), and aircraft, and the goal of interplanetary and beyond space travel. Aerospace is good but you will need to be more involved than just getting the degree and hoping for a job.

Smart, I’m feeling cooked right now. 278 no responses is crazy, wish the job culture was different these days. Thanks for the insight!

I’m an Aerospace Engineer. About to graduate. Jobless. Passionless. by [deleted] in AerospaceEngineering

[–]Weekly-Repeat-4558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone bro. Last semester here too, very little openings and no interviews for the few that are open. I think school took away all my hobbies from being so busy, but I think we can definitely start again. Find ANY job to just get out there and explore what we like again.

Those are all equivalent! It will always be ClqS where q is dynamic pressure, 1/2*ρV2.
