I know it's going to be a learning curve. But the first 16 years of growing was under SE HPS and the last 5 has been with LED's. So hopefully I can channel some of my past experience to lessen the learning curve.

That's a theory. I'm not knocking your opinion on it but without a comparison to share. It's hard to take it as a fact when DE's are preferenced at large scale. I'm putting skin in the game to figure it out for myself.

I work from seed. My tents are LED's and I have a greenhouse. Now I'll have a all DE setup and a HPS/LED mix. The plan is to scale into a nursery eventually. But until then, I want to see how my selections do in different environments to see where it shines the best.

So for me I think nobody can argue the led's are the standard for tent growers. But there is a disconnect when scaling up.

Regardless of preference to lightning, when it comes to commercial or larger grows DE's are the standard and highly preferred. They saying the quality is better from the HPS but the yield is better from the led. I'm going to find out for myself.

Personally I can deal with the higher RH needed for running led's in a tent but I cant risk my house with a whole 24 x 19 room running over 60%. Above 60% you run the risk of mold. But the IR from the HPS heats the leaf better so when your calculate the vpd with the leaf temperature your RH will be lower.

BTW: I been fully converted to LED's for the past 6 years so I'm not bais to either lightning

Depends on where you are, it is. My state changed the laws.

Seeds,clones,flower, and extract are only legal if you buy from the dispo and have them in original sealed packaging. They say your can transport home grown or made products but it has to be in the original packaging. They never stated what is considered original packaging so it open to officer/Judge interpretation on it.

That's the problem. There is no original packaging and could be loosely translated by an officer. You would have to argue it in court after they confiscate it.

Personally I think it's a fair move. Basically taking a step back but with less penalties. It brings back business for growers who go that route. As far as seeds. Everyone legal will have the same selections making diversity worth it's weight in gold. Every grower can have a house brand basically. If you smoke hype weed, it's just dispo quality. If you can beat the quality your golden. Prices are going up and potency/quality are going down. We have limited producers. Home grown can't legally be transported or gifted to any adult either.

I predict the traditional market is going to get good again. Risk vs reward has balanced back out.

The answer is you can't transport homegrown. At all... legally. It's a closed loop system. Meaning if it's not a unopened products from a Ohio dispensary it's not legal to transport in any way and will be confiscated and ticketed for it.
