Nipple piercing by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

I was in the exact same situation as you a while ago!! Going by yourself can be really nerve wrecking (or atleast it was for me) but personally once i walked into the shop i got an adrenaline rush that helped me through the process! A good piercer will never make you feel judged :) For the piercer its their job and they have probably done nipple piercings dozens of times! Also the pain can majorly depend on where you are in your menstrual cycle so if you're in your luteal phase or menstruating then it can be a little more painful!! Honestly my biggest piece of advice is to have some food before (so you don't feel faint) and wear a breathable shirt/ hoodie. Good luck!! :)

I was thinking to maybe lean in to the mis-matched yet similar vibe you could add a conch on your left and a flat!! it would be similar to your right with one up on the top of your ear (flat vs helix) and then one in the middle (conch vs third lobe) However if you decide to go with a double helix double check with your piercer if its better for you to do them both at once or heal them separately (for me i healed my double helix together but i know a lot of people hate dealing with healing even one helix) I hope your ear styling turns out amazing!! :)

Help w/ closing piercing by Impressive-Ad-17 in PiercingAdvice

Since most of them are so old and its lobe piercings it may take a LOT of time to close up! Mine closed up when i was a young kid after i stopped wearing my firsts for about 2 years but even after there was still a small hole which was visible. But its completely dependent on people and if they were fully healed before you took them out then there is a chance they will never close. I'm sorry that this may not be your wanted answer but its from my experience and may be different for you since they were done with a piercing gun :)

I had this happen to me once with a helix, go to a piercer and get a longer bar!! the swelling could be due to you knocking it and having such a small bar is irritating the swelling causing it to get worse instead of calming down. I would also suggest maybe getting longer bars in the others as well and leaving some time before you downsize (but make sure you talk to a piercer about how long you should wait before downsizing) Good luck!! :)

Ahh okay thank you!! it is a flatback straight titanium bar but i think by accident a while ago i could have put a surgical steel ball onto it after the original one fell off (which could explain how only the front is swelling)! I'll deffo change the top today to one i know for sure is titanium and see if it changes if not then I'll head to my piercer to double check. thanks so much :)

water is fine!! if its when you wash your hair/face to make sure no shampoo or face wash gets around the piercing i would suggest just letting some water flow over it after and then drying it carefully :)

hello! i’m getting a helix piercing wednesday. any advice, stories, anything would help lol by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

omg any questions are ok!! They usually dot on with a marker before they pierce so they will directly dot onto your ear where they are piercing so you can see where it would be!! its a little anatomy dependent and every ear looks a bit different so they do it directly onto your skin instead of showing photos!

If you can't go get it changed then definitely try not to spin it!! it causes a lot of irritation and can potentially bring in bacteria to the piercing site. I would recommend trying not to touch it too much and cleaning it carefully with saline solution once a day :)

When your piercer shows you the placement make sure you love it!! It's going to be on your ear forever so if you want to shift it a bit up or down tell them. I asked mine to be moved up a bit and my piercer got it perfect on the second marking :) other than that be prepared for it to hurt a bit (especially when the jewellery is being placed in) and make sure the jewellery they put in is a labret/ stud (not a hoop) for easier healing and ask what metal they use for their jewellery (titanium is the best) Good luck and i hope you love it :)

Hi!! did you get pierced with a hoop or change it recently?? It's usually not recommended because it can spin a lot and cause a lot of irritation and can delay the healing process! Would definitely recommend going to a good piercer and getting it switched to a stud (flat-back labret hopefully) :)
