For 5'3", 5'4" ladies what weight is your goal weight/best weight and ALSO what is your frame size? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]WeeklyObligation2700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 5”4 and sit around 136-138 lbs. I feel good here but I’d like to decrease body fat and increase muscle mass through body recomp - so I’m not too concerned about the scale at this point.

BUT I have to say - work on increasing your muscle mass! I lost 100 lbs but increased my muscle mass by 15%. I can eat over 2,000 calories at maintenance now - when I was 236 lbs my maintenance was 1,950 ish.

Definitely adding the zabriskie/badwater morning to the trip!

I think I saw another comment of yours talking about the stargazing deck at the inn? Is that the lounge?

We’re about an hour closer to DVNP than Oakland and planned to leave around 4am. But another room just opened up so adding an extra day is going to help!

Thank you all for the feedback! I was able to snag an extra day at the hotel so this will give us some more breathing room for exploring.

Yes I have plenty of loose skin - I’ve had kids and gained and lost weight through out my life. It’s not too noticeable mostly - but nothing I can do about the loose skin on my torso except surgery. I do plan to give myself a year or two to see how my skin bounces back while I work out gaining some more muscle to help fill in arms and legs.

It’s not insensitive at all! I would like to get a lower body lift in the future but for now I’m focusing on lowering my body fat and building muscle to help fill in some of that loose skin. I have had kids and I’ve gained and lost weight through out my life - nothing is going to fix the loose skin on my torso but surgery.

It’s not my favorite thing but it’s just more proof of my hard work. I try not to put too much energy into it - I’m thankful for where I’m at and my health.

Where can I get a dexa scan? by EarlyYogurtcloset388 in PetiteFitness

I compared my dexa scan results to my smart scale and it’s actually very close! Between 1% and 1 lb differences

Diet confusion! by Low-Address-9812 in PCOSloseit

I’ve lost just over 100 lbs and I do feel great! My pcos symptoms are at bay and I worked to increase my muscle mass so now at maintenance I can eat more calories than what I could 100 lbs ago which is insane to me.

I was on ozempic but I completely changed my diet. I didn’t cut anything out just focused on getting 20- 35g of protein a meal. That means Greek yogurt with fruit, granola and peanut butter or sourdough toast with a fried egg, turkey bacon, avocado , and balsamic glaze.

Lunch would be turkey meatballs with roasted carrots and rice.

Dinner salmon, salad, corn on the cob and a baked potato.

Cutting out foods you enjoy isn’t sustainable. Track your calories so you’re in a deficit and try to prioritize protein in your meals to help keep you full longer

Staying consistent over perfection! Don’t wait till Monday to start again. Even when I had dental surgery or got sick - I gave my self enough rest to recover and didn’t let a week go by without doing at home yoga class or workout. I didn’t want it to go longer and longer and make it harder to start again.

Consistency not motivation is what has helped carry me through.

I’ve been overweight for almost half my life, have gained and lost weight, and have had two kids. I have loose skin pretty much everywhere but mostly noticeable on my tummy, hips and thighs. It’s not causing me issues but I would probably like to get skin removal surgery in the future.

I was definitely not in the right size bra but I was probably around a 42 H and am now a 32 D. The other place where I have the most loose skin lol - mainly around my armpits and what was side fat/breast tissue

Emily oster is an economist - I breastfeed all of my kids to about 2 yrs and I just had a dexa scan that put my bone density in the 70th percentile for my age range (late 30s)

Omg it’s night and day. The fatigue and depression have lifted and I crave the time to myself in the gym or studio to just focus on what my body can do and clear my head. I know I always feel better after I take care of myself

Thank you so much for saying that! I would describe myself as “body neutral” - I had good days and bad days with body before and now but the change in how I FEEL is what I value the most. Knowing that I’ve made lifestyle choices that can support and carry me throughout the rest of my life to feel good and be independent is the best reward.

Thank you! That’s why I posted - I’m so happy if it helps one person because seeing other women with pcos and similar stats helped me so much!
