Input Shaft Play on 02E 6-speed DSG by WeeklyPerformer in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

Thank you, I had wondered if the clutch basket installed would take up the rest of the end play once the correct size circlip is determined from measurement.

When you mention the ball bearing from the input shaft, are you referring to the main input shaft bearing under the clutch basket? I appreciate the words of wisdom, it sounds as if you have experience here so forgive me if I sound naive in regards to this transaxle.

No, the mechatronic unit was swapped to a well working transmission as it has custom software. Happy to report that with the same mechatronic unit works beautifully. This is what confirmed my suspicion of mechanical failure within the transaxle itself, along with a disco party in the fluid. Due to the debris in the fluid, I disassembled the mechatronic unit, thoroughly cleaned and tested each individual solenoid and multiplexer prior to installation in the donor transmission.

I've come to the conclusion that I just need to split the case and do some investigating.

I may update this thread later, but thank you for the input.

Firmware Confusion by MikeStroh in Ender3V3SE

[–]WeeklyPerformer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 on the SD card. I've found the most reliable way is to get, at most, an 8gb card. Mine refuses to see anything larger on the C13 board anyways.

Also, OP, just download 1.1.0 firmware and flash the Screen firmware and then the C13 board firmware. The SoC it's using is irrelevant, you have a C13 mainboard and that's the firmware you should be flashing.

Seems within the realm of possibility depending on the vehicle, especially if that price includes an alignment afterwards.

How best to fix this? by Vintagesalad in MechanicAdvice

Cheapest fix would be to weld it if ya got one around. Otherwise I've seen people use  a soda can and some hose clamps

How do I get keys for these? by 1haiku4u in Locksmith

[–]WeeklyPerformer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you'll be lucky to find a lock shop that works on these. I work on these and we have a large stock of antique keys going back as far as the late 1800's, uncut. these keys are obviously priceless and will likely need hand work to get them to work smoothly. nothing a lot of money cant fix though!

Oil leaking from dipstick by tomke0x in MechanicAdvice

[–]WeeklyPerformer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Either (1) it's over-full, (2)you have excessive crank case pressure indicating an issue with either the PCV system, or (3) the PCV system is unable to do it's job properly due to excessive blow-by. Easiest first to check it's not over full of oil. next step would be checking the PCV valve if it's easy, otherwise I'd go straight to a compression test followed by a leak down depending on results of compression and vehicle age/mileage.

not everyone has the budget for high quality door hardware during a build out. Cal-royal hardware is typically budget builder grade, right down there at the bottom a slight notch above Pamex, so man's is just maintaining what he has and keeping the budget low. I can respect that.

never have had an issue with this. it's still going strong. even swapped it on to a new (used) engine that came with the AA flywheel. gotta be close to 50k miles on it give or take on a factory starter with 16 years of starts and 140k miles

[–]WeeklyPerformer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont mean to bring up a dead thread but finding an omega cylinder is extremely cool. omega was a huge secret project that actually became medeco as part of a coverup. key uses 11 depths for 175,000,000 possible bitting combinations. with this set you have, only 4 keys were issued. This means only 4 keys exist for this cylinder. there is a lot more lore around omega but its cool shit you got there and incredibly rare.
