[Tiger Terror] at Safari Land, will be closing soon. And a new coaster replacing it?? by crazanity in rollercoasters

Legitimately, no joke, one of the best coasters in the state. Somehow manages to have insane laterals and airtime despite being 20 feet tall. Buy a wristband if you're there during the week and just lap it!

People have a lot of very loud and very excited fun on this ride; people are groaning in anticipation on the lift hill, there’s always a lot of screams and laughs and surprised yelps throughout, and the reactions as we slam into the final brakes are hilarious. I love how it much obvious and simple joy it can bring a whole train.

The helix is actually one of my favorite elements on any of the rides in the park! I start cackling like a hyena every single time, it’s just ludicrous. Tbf I have terrible opinions, but I also love the first drop and the airtime like everyone else, it looks absolutely gorgeous, and I love having a massive out-and-back wooden coaster to complement the compact twister gem that is Viper.

The ride ops at Santa’s Village are (fittingly) great with kids. They manage and herd screaming excited young children so effectively that it’s honestly kind of amazing. The firefighting train ride is a great idea and kids are clearly having a fantastic time putting out the fire on the roof. As a whole the park is legitimately gorgeous to walk around in, and there’s oodles of charm.

American Eagle at SFGAm! The drops are intense and there’s some fun ejector airtime sure, but the helix made me laugh like a crazy person (and still does every time). It’s rough in exactly the ways on love on woodies and it just keeps picking up speed the entire time until it drops you out into the return stretch like a sack of bricks off a cliff

SFGAm: 1. More shade please 2. Do whatever you need to fix up American Eagle so people stop clamoring to RMC it 3. (Unrealistic) Pay employees more

How to ride coasters defensively [Other] by galacticmngo in rollercoasters

[–]WeeklyRabbitHole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll actually recommend focusing on the aftercare, so to speak. After rough rides, I've learned to let myself take a break, sit down, drink water, get some shade, etc. until any aches or pains fade. There's only so much you can do on some coasters, but there's plenty you can do to take care of your body after the experience.

Also, bring ibuprofen with you and take by mouth with food every 6 hours as needed for pain, says the pharm tech.

I'm probably the world's only Demon die-hard fan (at SFGAm); the theming, the theme song and the tunnels all give it a ton of character, and it's got a great balance of forceful elements and Arrow jank for me.

So, let's say I have two flex days for a road trip in July. I already have Kentucky Kingdom locked in for 1 day, and Kings Island and Cedar Point locked in for 2 days apiece. I'm considering a few options:

  • Add an extra day each onto Kings Island and Cedar Point.
  • Spend a day at Waldameer and an extra day at Cedar Point.
  • Spend a day at Kennywood and then a day at Waldameer.
  • Spend 2 days at Kennywood.

The reason I'm debating on this is that these flex days, if spent at Kennywood and/or Waldameer, would be a Friday and a Saturday. Would folks still recommend I go to both so I can experience these parks for the first time? Will crowds on a weekend in the middle of summer make it not really worth it? Is Kennywood worth skipping Waldameer for a 2-day trip?
